What's really neat on the ERA is the roof vent/ drain they incorporate into it.

Plus Gox, one, perhaps two others as well, memories not charged at moment. Several one off's in alloy.

Forgot GOX however as they seems to not respond to customer inquiries I am not sure you can purchase one!
Again, the best GT40 is the one you like and can purchase. Burn gas and crush bugs!
Here is P2171 at the Glen last week following a Jaguar F Type "R" on some parade laps:

Has to be SPF if you want something original looking. Steel spider separates the Men from the Boys.

My left hand drive ERA has a solid linkage shift rod that emulates the original. I love the feel rowing through the gears. Does SPF use the same setup on their left hand drive cars? I know some use a cable instead which is sloppy in comparison.

SPF's website answered my question. They use a cable instead of a direct linkage on their left hand drive models.

Just drove an SPF. Don't know whether direct linkage or cable. Didn't feel sloppy though.

If LHD cable, if RHD rod save for Grady's car with a "one-off" rod linkage that Olthoff designed and built for LHD. My LHD cable shift is not bad at all, not as "snick-snick" as my old Pinto race car with the German four speed. but pretty good for the distance that must be covered by the linkage. |

Can I digress from the OP slightly? Were all MkI GT40s RHD except for "Grady's"? Are you talking about Grady Davis' 1049? That was, and is, RHD as far as I know.
I think several MkIIs were LHD, but I'm no expert.
Anybody?

No, I am talking about an SPF MK II owned by a certain Grady XXXXX with a custom rod linkage using bellcranks and Heim joints to transfer the motion.
And no original MK IIs were LHD. The only LHD FAV/JWA cars were MK IIIs.
All original GT40s were rod linkage including the LHD MK IIIs. The LHD MK III linkage was "tortured" at best making the way around the engine. That is why SPF went to cable for the LHD cars |
