Default texas motor speedway after the texas cobra meet

A question for the dallas fort worth texas cobra guys......

I will be at the Texas Cobra Meet next week and on Apr 8th, there is a Nascar race at the Texas motor speedway.

If I were to leave San Marcos by 7-8am, is it feasible to get to the track by 11-12am ? It is really only a few miles out of way, but traffic could add hours to the time.

What I am really uncertain about is the traffic pattern on race day. Traffic could really throw this plan out the window. The cobra is in an enclosed trailer.

Your thoughts ?

Thanks, Derald.

Derald, if you leave at 7 am you should be able to go up I35 and not have to take the tollway. It should take about 4 hours. You will hit a big jam up near the speedway.

I am leaving at 4:30 am Sunday or Saturday night after the dinner. I got a pass to go to the NASCAR drivers meeting at 9 am. My friends and I have a 4 RV compound inside turn 3 against the fence. I am going directly to the track. Take 35 West at the split. The track is at 35 West and 114. The best place to park for free is in the lot between the dirt track and the speedway.

So you bought 4 RV’s? Or you bought 1 RV and your friends have 3 RV’s? And now you’re part of this RV compound?

It is my NASCAR buddies. I had a space there since track opened. Sold my spot and bought one at COTA. Group of 4 of us have been together in turn 3 for almost 20 years. Margarita machines, Bar, Karoke stage, elevated platform to watch, DJ, and a cook. Ask Bobby W. or John S. they have been out to the compound. It's nuts.
