Default Sniff, sob.

Official word on the street is that my Cobra will not be fully painted in time for the event.

So who's got a spare seat to offer?

You should have said something sooner, we all would have been glad to bring a few cans of Krylon and had a painting party during the event!!!

I know how you feel though, I didn't have my car ready for last year's event, either.

Why won't it be ready? There are almost 2 weeks till the get together. My truck goes into the paint booth today or tomorrow and I should have it back by friday.

I understand the fiberglass takes alot more work but hey.

The word on the street is that Tony's driving a CMC just like yours to the TCC spring meet on the 23rd. If I was you, I would call Tony and see whats up. May be Tony's got a spare seat available.

During the work done so far, we've gotten pickier and want to get it a lot more "perfect". Also, with the cold weather, its taking a bit longer for paint to dry, and striping is best done after the base color has *properly* dried. After the paint is done, it'll take me a couple days to get it running perfectly again, cause I had messed with the EFI computer just before painting started.

So we decided (actually Tony urged me) to make sure it's done right instead of rushing everything.

I think I'll go into a corner cry some more...

Default I know how you feel.

I was in the same boat last year. I had to REPAINT my car because of some problems with the first paint job. I had the same decision to make hurry up and do it wrong or wait and do it right. I chose the later and I am glad I did. I will bring th ecar to Austin this year for the first time. I have been every year , but this time I get to bring the car. I can't wait.

greg,

It takes a while to do them correctly. I got about 1/2 way done the other day and had to stop, so it looks like I will have to start over again. It is a lot better than it was. I have to get that done this week. I am almost ready for Austin, just a few small things like putting the seats back in.

I got the trailer cleaned and the oil changed in the truck so I am real close to being finished. I hope the webers will only take a couple of hours. It should be easier this time since I already have each carb on the same bank tuned together. Now all I have to do is cross tune and I am done. I know this thing will run a hole in the wind now. I can't wait to see it all tuned together.

Hey Neil,

I saw that you were selling your front MII suspension. What replaced it?

Joe,

Tubulars with PolyU bushings took their place a couple months ago. Made a big difference in control and positive feedback. However, the real improvement will come from my custom-designed rear suspension. Got all my rod-ends, tubing, etc already, and taking a welding class so I can make the brackets etc.

Stay tuned...
