Lookin' for a quickie engine

One of the Dallas area club members, cobra400hp, cracked a cylinder wall in his FE390 recently, and just found out today the engine won't be ready in time for the Austin event. So, he's lookin' for either a comlete 390 or 428 in running condition, nothing exotic, just an engine. Will also take a short block of either variety. I found out that the machine shop should have the rebuild kit by Tuesday 10am. If I can have it by Tuesday evening then I can take thursday off hopefully fire wednesday. Im praying to the bigblock gods.... Ill keep yall posted....

OK.. I work backwards.. hahaha I means take wednesday off and fire thursday. You know what I meant to say......

Hey Jim & 400HP,

Two sources that might have a 390 engine.

A salvage yard in Sache had a 1968/69 Galaxie that we got a oil adapter plate off of, otherwise the engine was complete and I think Cory indicated the entire engine could be bought for $200 to $300. Give them a call Ray Miller Salvage on hiway 78 (972) 442-7964 or (972)442-4485.
