! Message for the Austin folks !

AUSTIN COBRA LUNCH !
Saturday June 1, 11:00 am
Carlos and Charlie's [was: Oasis restaurant just off 620, that got shot down.]

(I'll post directions later).

C'mon guys & gals, I do understand that things are going on, so we'll make it one of the good ole original lunch meets. This should be a no-brainer :) -- nothing too time-consuming, extravagant, nor 500 miles away.

Just say "Aye" (no "Nay's" allowed :) ).
Actually, say anything, but make an effort to be there -- you were going to have lunch anyway, right?

Cheers,
-Neil.

PS: not sure who's got the ball for this month, so hope I'm not stepping on any toes here.

Cobra Dude 05-26-2002 09:09 PM

BTW, Cobras are preferred, but defintely optional. This is really for you. And non-Austinities are absolutely welcome.

**)

Cheers,
-Neil.

I'll be there. No cobra, yet, but I'll give anybody that wants it a progress report.

I was just at Carlos & Charlies today (first time) and would recommend that over the Oasis as seemed like a much more 'happening' place, but I'm flexible.

Gregg(What's his name)? 05-27-2002 06:19 AM

I'll be there!

Ok guys I'll be there.

The Oasis has a great view.

The Oasis for lunch? Great view, Terrible food. ugh. They have the worst food in Austin, bar none, even with their new kitchen. Even the nachos are bad...maybe I'll have a margarita, a liquid lunch. Or stop by Mulligan's out here in Lakeway first.

I like the Carlos & Charlies idea. at least I'm not opinionated. Sorry Neil....

I'm supposed to go to a graduation in Houston, but I'm not looking forward to that, either. I'll try to make it wherever you guys decide...

Ed Csoltko 05-27-2002 09:14 AM

I'll be there.

Jeff, Bring your video of the spring meet so I can duplicate it.

Blake Olson 05-27-2002 10:56 AM

I'll be there...no cobra yet...it's been ordered...

blake

Cobra Dude 05-27-2002 11:24 AM

Ahhh.... that's the spirit!

Picked Oasis since there's been a number of Cobra meets at C&C already, but I agree, their food isn't great :( (though their margaritas and guacamoles are awesome :D ). Iguana Cantina has much better food, but their parking lot is filled with dirt and I won't subject a Cobra to that. ;)

So the votes lean toward C&C right now. Still counting...

Cheers,
-Neil.

Ed Csoltko 05-27-2002 12:49 PM

Neil; The silent majority is still out to lunch, or may be they left Austin. It will be interesting to see who else from Austin responds. I still say the 2002 Spring Meet did a number on the Austin bunch, and they haven't recovered sufficiently to even respond to emails, more or less this TCC forum.

Dee, Stretch, Kyle, Richard, Joe, David, Garhardt, Scott, John, and Jeff R still haven't surfaced.

By the way, if your taking votes I vote for Carlos & Charlies.

Carlos and Charlies.

Neil,

I have the contact info for the manager.

We usually show up around 11:00 to get the parking lot blocked off. We eat around 12:00 and called it good.

let's go to Carlos & Charlies. Please. Oasis food is inedible....C&C has grilled shrimp to die for...and quite a bit of female scenery usually...

mustangmendez 05-28-2002 11:54 AM

Neil I am for what ever . I can meet you @ your house as planed .
Guys just make sure they have a flat level concert slab for my buddy to lay out his blocks for hop scotch .Your still on for that right NEIL ???? HEHEHEHHEHE

If I can figure out how to get my new passenger side H2O pump to share some room with my alternator, I'll be there. Lot's of work to go.....

Cobra Dude 05-28-2002 03:41 PM

Ed2 -- your wish is granted.
Gregg -- thanks, I'll set it up.
Tony -- still ignoring that hopscotch comment.
Ed1 -- the spring meet was, well, in spring. It's been months since that. We need to start making phone calls.
Blake -- we haven't met. Welcome.
Jeff -- fine, since you have 2 Cobras, I'll let you have 2 votes. :)
Renman -- stop using the car as an excuse :3DSMILE: , just hop in the truck and head over.

Peace out yo!

Ed Hubbard 05-28-2002 06:51 PM

Great! See you guys out there on Sat. I'll try to bring something interesting from my build to talk about.

jrichard 05-29-2002 05:26 AM

has a decision on location been made, or am I a bit unobservant? After reading all the responses I'm still for C&C but I don't want to be the only Cobra there....again....as usual.

Ed Hubbard 05-29-2002 06:10 AM

It is now C&C.

Cammer 05-29-2002 06:51 AM

C & C sounds good to me - Jacque and I will be there - haven't been out in the Cobra in months - looking forward to this meeting!!! Ed, let me know when you are leaving and we will stop by your place and ride out there with you!!

SeanTX 05-29-2002 08:59 AM

Even I might make it.
