Car Radio. Yes I said radio.
Before I get flamed about not being a "real" cobra guy cause I want to listen to the radio as I drive , If I wanted to be a pure cobra guy, I would not have a Kit. I just want to have fun. There I said it. Now.....
I do not want a radio antenna hanging anywhere on my Cobra so I was leaning to a mp3 player. I know there is a least ONE GUY out there with a radio in his car. What kind of antenna did you use? where is the antenna?
Speaker location???? sound (over the sidepipes.)
butane is on...go ahead and spark.

RADIO
HEY TODD! Just in luck i installed a Sony CD player in my B&B Cobra Radio went in great,Speakers are behind me i used the Pioneer 5.1/4 came with a remote Real nice feature when your out of the car and want to listen to some tunes. For the sound with the Engine running you can still listen with no problem . And Last thing is the Antenna I picked a powered flat Antenna that mounts flat under your dash and does not need to be grounded It gets wired direct to your radio on your remote wire. It's Made for fiberglass kit cars Bought it at your Local Advance auto parts store Hope this helps it cost 17.00 dollars Take care (greensnake) Lonny

My cousin recently installed a radio in his Factory 5. He put speakers in the doors and in between the seats and cut a hole in the carpet, but left it attatched at one end. This way he pulls up the flap of carpet to reveal a speaker. The unit is underneath the dash with a remote to operate it. You can't even tell that it's there when not in use.

GREENSNAKE has the ticket there...
For a truly concealed antennae. My WCC will have a retractable electric antennae.
You can see my dash almost finished in my picture gallery, with the visible part of the stereo, well, ... visible. The rest is in the trunk.

Would love to listen to music at times while I drive. Problem is, I can't hear the stereo (no matter how loud its turned up) once I go over 20mph !

Dude, you've asked at the right location. I feel the same, as I'm running an AM/FM/cassette/12-disc trunk changer with 4-spkrs and a subwoofer between the seats..... in my Cobra. Totally agree with the hidden antenna as well ... I used a short flexible rubber "whip" antenna, but mounted it horizontally under the rear "lip" of the body. Excellent reception.
Depending on location/speed, I can't always hear it, but most of the times it's very good. And this is actually one of the reasons I keep 3.08 tail gears -- so I can cruise at 70 mph in 5th at 1800 rpms, and listen to the stereo.
Cheers,
-Neil.

I had a AM/FM/Single CD is my last Superformance Cobra. Radio was on the right side of the dash in front of passenger seat. Looked great. Two speakers mount under the dash on each side with covers/cases over rear of the speaker. Boats are fiberglass so I used an antenna that my local boat dealer uses!
Haven't put one in my new Superformance but don't think I can go too long with out my Car Tunes "Beach Boys Rule"

Thanks
Thanks for the replies. I am looking for that flat powered antenna but did not see it in the crutchfield mag. I am talking to the guys at Southwest electronics and they have the new sat radio, however you have to mount a HUGH sharkfin antenna on the outside of the car with no obstructions. I think I will use a small amp in the trunk to make sure the speakers sound clear and loud. Now if only Andy Dunn can tell me how to install it all!!!! Or re-install it

try custom autosound
I have the secret audio from www.custom-autosound.com.
I put the radio under the front seat, the wire antenna under the lip across the rear. I made speaker boxes and velcro'd them up high behind the seats. You can mount the small control panel anywhere you want, but I just put some velcro under it and set it right between the stick and p brake, and when it is parked I peel it up and put back under the seat.
I can't hear it about 4000 rpms, but cruising between 70 & 80 I can.
They have a radio frequency remote also that you can control everything with if you want to install the control piece in the glove box.
Good luck.
I tuck the speakers down low behind the seat if I leave the car in a lot or cruise nights.
Dana

You could also try coax where you strip 27.5" of outer shielding, leaving the center wire length exposed and affix vertically (horizontally would work but vertical would be best) somewhere in the fiberglass, and connect the other end to the antenna hook up normally. Has worked in other applications.
Thought I would mention it as a worthwhile inexpensive attempt.

radio
El Kingo----big loud block but i needs me tunes!!!!!
I really don't want to do the stripping of coax bit dut to hooking up to the radio. Don't know how that would work.
Thanks for all the replies. If I ever get something in I'll post what I have and how it sounds.
