Tcc @ Tms
I am posting this for Don Barnes. this it the race he talked about at the June lunch.
John, I am working to get the contact information for the entire Cobra 2000 club come as a group with your own corral area for your group. Do I need to send the info to any other person, than yourself ? I assume you guys would be interested in bringing a group ? See attachment below, I would like for you guys to send out to your club, and I will follow up with details next week after I get all the info.
Friends of db Racing,
I would like to take this opportunity to personally invite you and your families to the Grand Prix of Texas sponsored by Young Chevrolet July 12-14 at the Texas Motor Speedway. The SCCA is expecting 300+ racecars at this event. Come out and see the Panoz GTS racecars and meet all the drivers. We will have a hospitality area with shade and plenty of cool refreshments for all our friends. The Panoz racers will be racing on Saturday and Sunday so stop by any time and be our guests. If you would like more information about the event go to www.texasscca.org/gpt/ or contact me at don.barnes@intel.com. If you are attending, drop me email so we can plan our refreshments.
See you at the races,
Don Barnes
I am out on vacation for two weeks, if someone wants to run with this great else I will follow up with Don when I get back on July 1st.
This could work for our July meeting, its only one week later.
So far I have herd from David McKenzie and he is in.
John

More info
As mentioned previoulsy the link that describes the race and all the details is:
http://www.texasscca.org/gpt/
Click on the car club tab for details on dedicated space in the infield for car clubs. There's parking available for trailers, security for anyone wanting to leave their car overnight, etc.
Anyone want to consider doing this as a club event and make it our July meeting? This is certainly open to eveyone in the club, statewide. Tie in some good race watching with a mini-car show of our Cobras?
I'll be there the entire week-end crewing for Don, so no problem having my Cobra on display.
Post your replys here so we can see what kind of interest there is. If you just want to watch the races let Don know and he will provide the tickets as explained at our June meeting.
Jim

This sounds like a winner to me!!
Well guys and gals,
This sounds like a winner to me for sure! I really don't see any reason not to plan our July meeting around this, especially since I don't think anyone has stepped up to the plate for July anyway!
O.K. TCC Dallas members, speak up & give us your thoughts/feelings on this one.

Dang, I just KNEW something would pop up!
Dang,
It looks like I am going to be a no-show!!
Lyndsie (my 15 year old) is going to be playing in Spikefest - a 3 on 3 volleyball tournament that is held in Addison that weekend. I have been appointed "team DAD- or go-fer/money bags" as the case may be.
Sorry to miss the TMS deal, but I have the feeling that you guys are going to be having way too much fun in the sun to be thinking about anything but raw horsepower!

Not a lot of.....
interest in response to this, especially since the Royal family are having a July meeting the week-end before. So, it doesn't appear to me it is worth pursuing doing a car corral there. Those that are interested or have already expressed an interest in attending the Texas Grand Prix at TMS and want the free tickets from Don, just get in touch with him at the contact listed above.
