Austin's July meeting
So who's got the ball for this month? How about one of you in hiding? Or one of the newer folks?
Cheers,
-Neil.

I just saw on my calendar that I signed up for July and August. Unfortunately, I'm trying to fix an intermittent ignition problem , and also working during the week in Houston (which, for the balance of this month, will also include weekends), which means I'm hoping someone else can take point for July.
I did see in today's AAS mention of the Central Texas Museum of Automotive History, which mapquest says is about 63 miles from Steiner Ranch. Not sure if it would necessarily be to the taste of this crowd, but sounded interesting ( http://www.ctmah.org).
If that sounds interesting at all, I can do some initial calls to see how they'd react to a Cobra or two showing up.
Thanks,
JLW

I wouldn't mind doing July? I was going to set us up for a run to Bastrop to the Texas Automotive Museum of History ($5.00 to get in), take a run by Lone Star Rod & Custom and even perhaps see a few cars that hold the current "Land Speed Record". Have a little BBQ out East..... Thoughts on any or all of these three?????
If someone else wants to set it up then I could tell you how to reach each and every one of these places.

Dave - it would be a load off my mind if you're up for running the show this month! Seems I've got a lot less time now that I'm no longer "between jobs", especially since the job puts me out of town throughout the week.
Thanks,
JLW

I'll add another to the mix besides the ones listed above. How about a lunch at Bob Cole's (KVET fame) Restaurant "Hill's Cafe" that is on S. Congress. It's 3 blocks South of Ben White. Ton's of parking, BBQ, Chicken Fried Steak.... www.hillscafe.com

I'd prefer something closer to home as I'm trying to build mine still!

AWWW come on ED 2
Ed 2 I drive a little over a 100 miles for each lunch and Trying to work on 3 Cobras + REN MAN I feel that a Bastrop trip should be a field trip and a lunching should be closer to my house .....HA HAHA @ least in this HEAT .Pick a place I don't really care it kills most of the day for me anyway, so its the only time I make myself take a break .I need to put some miles on my new Lincoln LS Sport we just bought.

Hey! I too prefer something closer to home, cause...errr.....ahhh....I don't have mine.... and errr..... will have to walk. Yeah! That's the ticket. That's my story and I'm sticking to it!
Seriously though, the longer trips may be better left for the less-rainy months. (I'm sure we'll get a bigger turnout that way). The Hills Cafe thing sounds good.
More importantly though, is what date are we aiming for?
Cheers,
-Neil.

Sorry I can't make it on the 20th, I'll be up in the Dallas area with Ray Russell and his SPF. I'm going to miss the “Redneck Philly” Cheese-Steak Sandwich at the Hills Cafe. You guys enjoy it for me. I'll catch up with everyone next month.

Newbie interested in showing up
Hopefully, my FFR Roadster is shipping end of this week and I'm in the process of cleaning parts. Anyways, I'd be interested in showing up at the meeting this weekend. What time?

Sorry to say, but Jacque and I will not be able to make it this weekend - I have a 35th year reunion in Corpus Christi - I am disappointed at the way this has worked out - like Ed I was really interested in trying that 'redneck philly cheesesteak'.
Looking forward to seeing everybody next month!!

I may be out too!
Sorry Folks,
I may have to skip this one also. The oldest is a Cub Scout and we have a event on Saturday Morning. If it gets over in time I may beable to stop by and watch everyone eat this Philly Cheese Steak.

Hey Ed, Cammer:
I'm not opposed at getting together the next weekend (27th) too! Who says we can only meet once a month? I'll just set up a "make-up meeting" at Hill's Cafe for the 27th as well. Show up once, show up twice!
