So who has the Yellow Rose Show Recap?
I was hoping to make it out the show to see you guys but I've had too much going on lately and needed the weekend to catch up.
So let's get a recap from you guys that were there.
John Ross - Did you get your car back in time for the show?

I went out on Saturday night - crowd wasn't too big. I saw Matt (427Aggie), Gary Morris and met Dan Hardiman for the first time.. got to see his BEAUTIFUL new SPF, silver w/black stripes and rondells, 427SO with webers.. mmm... Its got a whopping EIGHT miles on the odo.
I'll post some pics from home tonight...
I also made some good scores - bought a set of unissued '68 Texas license plates for the '68 Mustang we are restoring. First a little background for you movie buffs: The license plates on the '68 390GT driven by Steve McQueen in "Bullitt" are "JJZ 109". The '68 Texas plates I found are "JZG 308". well, its close...

No Car Yet
I made it to the show but my car did not.
It is still at ET Automotive in Garland.
There was a very nice red fastback in my spot.

Shame on you Hardiman
Dan - I have been so busy at work that I completely forgot about you finishing up your new SPF and completing the engine install. I guess I did not know it was Silver/Black...you know I have a thang for that color. Love to see some pics.
So did anyone take home any trophies?

It was nice to meet Bob Worley and David Tittle at the show. There were a lot of very nice Cars at the Yellow Rose. From what I have been told the quality of the cars at the show is getting better each year. The Cobras were well represented, Gary Morris, Matt Tice, Greg Plants And a couple more. Forgive me for not remembering their names. Those of you that did not make it out, you missed a great car show. I still have a couple of bugs to work out on my SPF but will get there soon.

Dan,
I'm glad I was able to make it to the show. It was good to finally meet you. Your car is one of the nicest I've seen, you did an incredible job under the hood. We need a picture posted of that 427 w/ Webers if you have one. I must admit, it’s the setup I wish I had in my car.

Gary and I tied for Street Class Cobra Replica Best of Class ("Class Winner") and both got a trophy. I took a lot of pictures (many of which was just after setup and thus have camera angles not permissible to the public), but have not scanned them all yet. I will post them as soon as I can.
I wonder how many votes it takes to win the Public Choice Award --- The Show Class Shelby Elinor won that award. I know almost 20 people voted for my car (gave them my pen to vote) and do not know how many others I do not know about...
The Shelby Sunbeam Tiger Club was bragging about how they finally beat the Texas Cobra Club in both number of cars and quality of display.
I got a price list of Shelby's Cobra CSX line (starting $45K for their kit), and noticed that they finally roped off their display because the public was putting perminant fingerprints into the shiny aluminum "foil" body --- just touching it dented the body on either car. They do offer a fiberglass body for a little less money.
Later --- Alan

It was a good time had by all James. You will notice in Bobby's picture of our display that we had Miles and Bob from Ford over there with us again. Had a great time at dinner with them and actually got some pics in the 49
I am already looking forward to October...going to be a great time.

Nice picture, but
Bobby,
That really is a nice picture of Gary's car but I think your colors are off on your camera.
From what I hear, Gary went from polishing every little thing on his car to ....well, I think the picture tells the story...

Morris - I'm running a little short of cash and was wondering if I could borrow your roll bar for 90 days (or your side pipes or your wheels or your windshield trim.......) Is is 18 or 24-Karat gold?????
