Thumbs down

I and two others entered our Cobra kit cars in the 2000 Goodguys show and nobody told us which is the better class we should enter as a kit car. The registration workers did not know what classes there were and so there is confusion. Instead, the Goodguys registration workers had us enter our cars in the muscle car class and we did not win any awards when we would have had a chance maybe in another class, like "homebuilt". Goodguys seem to cater primarily to exotic street rods, modified custom originals, concourse cars, and especially trucks in the competitions. No kit car won an award! Looking at the list of cars that won previous events last year and this year so far, a kit car has yet to win. Even though it was fun to look around and talk to all the vendors about their products, and see all the beautiful cars (mostly from out of state), the lack of helpfulness in the registration left me with a bad taste in my mouth where I will not enter my Cobra in the Goodguys show. Live and learn I guess...

Paul is entered. Our friend from California is here and Paul will have his car at the Boyd Cottington exhibit. I don't know what class he entered the car, but they were friendly to him and gave him lots of "stuff". Paul will be out there Fri, Sat (with early departure time--the wedding you know) and all our family is going on Sunday. I heard on Saturday, there is suppose to be time allowed if you want to take your car around the track. Don't know how accurate the info is.

Goodguys are not that friendly!!! They would not let me park with the group that sells my car... I might not go next year. And as of friday I think I had the only Cobra there.

Default Car Shows

We (The Mile Hi Corba Club) have been asked by several members to put on a car show. Have talked to the local Kit Car Club and they will tie in with us. It will be a Cobra/Kit Car Show only. I would like to have a show with as few complaints as possible. Also would like to make it fun for the whole family. No Parking Lots with nothing to do but sit in the sun. Would anyone have suggestions for us on how to organize our show? Also share with us your past experiences (good and bad).
Thank you in advance for your help.

I am going to walk the show on Sunday, but I had not thought about entering a car in the show because of all the complaints I have heard in the past.

Dick,
When were you thinking of having the show?

James,

We (Colorado) have to wait until summer for a show outdoors.

James,

What time are you going on Sunday? Maybe we can meet out there and walk around together. I think Drew is interested also. We can talk at lunch Saturday!
