Unhappy

Gary,

I understand what you are saying. While we are being open and truthful in front of the group, let me say I have always felt somewhat like an outsider with exception of few members like you (that maybe is why I keep trying), and being treated occasionally like a tag-along stepchild by most on the few times I had attended the monthly meetings, (and is maybe why I do not plan my life around the club activities). Also, with exception of a few events that require advance pre-registration, everything is planned at a few days notice, including the monthly club meetings. I am active in many hobbies and interests, and wish I had the time to do all of them all the time. The other groups I belong to have planning calendars posted, and as it unfortunately turns out most of the time, TCC plans meetings and events on a moment's notice on weekends and days that I have already committed myself a month ago to these other groups. I also do not post many email messages on this forum because my life does not revolve around a computer either. Also for many monthsof weekends my Cobra has been under one state of upgrade or another and not drivable...

I am not offended nor turned off of this club. I can only participate if I happen to know about an event and if that event does not happen upon something else I have committed to already. If it was not for a few members like yourself that are open and friendly, I might not have kept occasionally getting on the forum, trying to check for events I could attend, nor felt comfortable in sending the invite to the BSA Camporee. It is the lack of advance planning and solely using the internet for communication that has prevented me from attending the TCC meetings.

It is now time for me to leave the house to be with my troop at the camporee. I will not be able to respond to any further emails until I get back.

-Alan

Wink Alan.......

for over 2 years running now we have had a standing meeting for the first Saturday of each month. Yes, there have been a few exceptions, and those were noted here on the forum. But for advance planning, the first Saturday of each month is established. Put it on your calendar and then all you have to do is check the forum for location and time, and that is usually posted well in advance of the actual date. As far as that goes, you could even sponsor one and determine location and time.

Smile Camporee was fun... wish you were there

Just got back in... It rained hard during the night, but only a total of 15 minutes at TMS during Saturday daytime (three 5 minute sprinkles). It rained all night the night before and I decided to drive back and change cars before dinner. That was a good choice because last night it really rained hard around 2:00 AM. Fortunately I had no damage whatsoever to my car... only a little wetness. These boys were surprising very well behaved around the show cars. The Scouts had many many activites to do and think everyone had fun though many were soaked from head to toe. As far as displays go, the Model-A Club of Fort Worth had a showing. Denton and Fort Worth Police also were displaying their specialized vehicles. The military did not show up with their vehicles. The racetrack was wet, so the team practice time trials and racecar school evidently was cancelled.

Gary and all, starting the first of next year, I am going to write down the first Saturday for TCC Club meetings in my calendar (I told you I do not follow this forum as often as I should --- I guess the word "sporatic" describes my internet activity at best. Did not realize the first Saturday had become standard...)

You may not hear from me for a little bit --- My work shift changes quite often lately, I found out I have to work on my house, and I also came home to find out I now have relationship problem concerning a woman I am dating (or trying to). It seems that Scouting and working on (upgrading) my Cobra are two things that keep my mind off my worries. I need to find a woman who enjoys both the outdoors and Cobra cars.
