Looks like you boys are on it again!!
Austinites,
It looks like you guys are on it again!! I think the Hotel idea as the final destination is the only way to fly, and the parking situation MUST be the priority. I think the majority of the out of the area cars will be trailered, and please remember the amount of BIG RIGS that are in our Club ahd be sure to allow for the necessary space. I think 25 trailers just might be a bit light, especially with the way our club continues to grow!
If you plan this part well, the rest will fall into place.
Please let us in Dallas know how we can help you, and when you need it!
John Russell
I'm looking forward to coming to #4 in a row!

What do you guys think of having a "buy your own lunch" at Hill's Cafe? I could talk to Bob Cole about having the parking lot reserved. Lots of food from Burgers to Chicken-Fried-Steak. Reasonable and nobody has to clean up. They will separate the checks on request. Bob, I know, would be eager to have 60+ cobras in his lot. Then perpaps since we are in South Austin we could do a "Southern Cruise"?

I like the idea of buying your own lunch on Saturday as everyone can eat what they want and we reduce the planning and timing of coordinating lunch. A new southern route also sounds great!
Make sure you order Sun Shine too!

Keeping Fresh iN everyone's Mind!
Just trying to keep this fresh in everyones mind.
We are checking out a possible cruise run for our December Meeting. We are going to Gruene, TX they have a couple of great restuarants for people to choice from. We have a contection and are checking to see if they can handle 100+ Cobras. Plus 200 people.
Keep everyone informed.

Hows the Hotel hunt coming??
Greg & the group,
How's the "Hotel hunt" coming along? Are you thinking of having Gruene as the headquarters? If so, I think it is a way cool idea! If the central hub has not yet been found and we still don't have a hotel with ample parking pinpointed I think we may be spinning our wheels.
Guys, without the hotel, we really don't have much going on and other bookings are happening every day. Maybe it is easier to find hotels that are willing to commit a block of 75-150 rooms for an event less than three months away with enough trailer parking to handle our needs in Austin than I imagine, at least I hope it is.
People that have to travel to any event that require them to make a reservation for lodging will book early, conversely, if this drags on without the hotel being secured people will just pass on the event totally.
Please, I feel the hotel issue needs to be settled as quickly as you can and then you can track reservations and get a handle arount the rest of the event.
Location,Location,Location!!
We will be more than happy to help you guys from Dallas, if you would just tell us what to do!!(Please, be nice!!)
Good luck, and have a Happy and safe Thanksgiving to my Austin brothers.

Hotel Scouting!
John,
I'm waiting to hear from Charmer. He had a couple of ideas for hotels. Until I hear from him we are going forward and looking at all possible ideas.
The hotel HQ should have the following requirements.
Ample parking for all the trailers and rigs. Be able to handle a friday evening party. (Incase we have a weather issue. We can Move inside) Meadows promised nice weather
Be able to block off 75 - 100 rooms.
At least that is what we are shooting for.
Have a save and Happy Thanksgiving.
Looks like the driving weather is gone for a few days.

Greg, Thats GREAT!!
Greg,
It looks like things are shaping up down in your neck of the woods! Thanks for the update, and by the way.....I picked my son up at his middle school today in the Cobra- their last day untill December 2nd. Of course, I just HAD to take one of his buddies for a ride, which just goes to show you that it's NEVER too cold to convert a teenager!!
Happy Thanksgiving everybody!!

Everything sounds good so far:
REMEMBER:
The parking for the trailers is paramount
The more simple the better ( remember how well it went last year)
Buy your own lunch sounds great
After our cruise last year it was hot and everyone was very thirsty and no one had anything cold. Poor Renman was swamped passing out that great tasting home brew. How about when we get to the final destination after the cruise we have a cooler (or 2 or something) for everyone to get a drink, water, coke, tea or something. Just an idea.
The poker run route should have a stop at a gas station so everyone can fuel up. Some of these monsters drink fuel like water. The station has to be big enough to handle that many cars. This would also be a great place to regroup together, you know how scattered we get.
Keep it simple and end up back at the hotel. Maybe some would even want to load the cars in trailers on Saturday night just in case of bad weather. It would be nice for the trailers to be close.
How about larger name tags so we can get the names of the folks we talk to every year via this forum, or Tee shirts with our CC name on them. I know that would be a big task, but could we set up a place that we could get the shirts and have our names put on them there? I know this would be very difficult, maybe to much!
Just some thoughts, you all do a great job of planning.

Inquiring minds want to know....
Okay...it's December 3.....what's the skinny...?
I've blocked the last weekend in February to join you folks for some fun, food, and frolicking with our rides, but would like to call and make reservations. Problem is, I don't know who to call....
Can anyone help a fellow Cobra owner out?
Just found out our Deep South Cobra Club annual meeting is too close to our Spring SPF track event. Since I won't be able to schedule both of these events in May (and live to tell about it), I needed to choose one....guess which one won? Yep, every time it's go fast time for Flyin_Freddie, no doubt about it.
So, I'm lookin' to nail down February's TCC annual meeting.... He'p me, Boys....HE'P ME!

I wanted to bring this to the top. Not seeing enough chatter about this event.
Austin guys tell us what help you need on planning. We are here to help.
Started a new thread "New Annual TCC Event planning Thread" Please start using that one for the planning and comments.
Thanks
