Am using a T-5Z with a Hurst shifter. Hurst has a "Classic" style shifter ball that I ordered with it. It's about the size and a tad lighter than a billiard ball and resembles those installed on Hurst 4 speeds of the '60's. Adds a little snap to the shifting.

The standard shifter ball that comes with the Hurst has a removable logo that can be replaced with a Cobra logo from Tony Branda. Had to get one for my stering wheel horn button as LeCarra couldn't sell me one.

Default Cobra shifter-knob,

Mustang,
This may seem a little "over the top"---but I remember a paper-weight in my Dad's office in Melbourne, Fla.---it was a rattler's head encased in Plarex(?) a cold-pour plastic. The paperweight was acube, but I don't see whay we couldn't bribe a zoo-attendant to give us any dead cobras---get a spherical mold---and away we go!!!

BTW (another subject)---I'm trying to get a certain custom color for my car (which is a-building)---if you have access to a PPG or DuPont color-patch book, let me know if you want to do a little research.

Mustang,
Well, let's start with the "Rattler-in-a-Ball" concept. I've got two zoos near me (ask my wife and she'll say it's THREE)
but I might get a deal. Anyway, I'd like to try for a cobra-in-a-ball. If I make two, I'll send ya one! If I make three and sell one for a nifty profit AND suddenly cobras start getting sick in zoos all over the country, you will, I hope, deny ever having communicated w/ me, right? The strange (I admit) color that I suggested to Ron Butler (who is selling me a cobra with a bluish-pearl-gray interior (!) was........is.........(drum-roll, please)..........EGGPLANT!!! (Cue the Monty Python "stark danger" music)...The best way to convey it to you is that it really is (no kiddin') based on a real eggplant!
About three or four years ago Chrysler had a color called "Midnight Plum" (I think)---add a pearl black..and away we go! Cadillac has a deep crimson, and black and blue and maybe that will work? If you get any leads or (better) ideas, on this let me know. Two years ago, at Pebble Beach, I saw a Talbot Lago with a deep "midnight purple"--that was real close to eggplant---it also made for the sexiest car ever made by mankind. The present-day "Talbo" (note spelling) turnkey attempts to emulate the Talbot's "look"---not to badly, either. There is a yellow and black Talbot (real) at Peterson's "Million Dollar Car" exhibit right now. Bring the heart-meds!!!

Thanks for your interest. I'll contact you again when I corner the color better. Watch the news for "mysteriously-dying zoo cobras"---hoo hah!

Chow,

Default car color

Freddie,
My wife says to call it "Aubergine". It's french apparently for Eggplant. Might help in your search.

66,
You make it an even dozen of Texans I really like! You guys have steered me straight on several issues and I thank you one and all. What I'll do is go to my local bodyshop guy (he's featured in the latest Kit Car, in an article about a new lightweight FFR). I think I'll SAY "eggplant"---then I'll slip over a piece of paper with "aubergine" written on it.
I know that I'll have to bend someone's head if I lead out with "aubergine" verbally! No, wait, I'll DO IT! I'm a VERY large man (ask Jerry Goddard or Jim Weatherford)---and I still retain my "study hall glower".

Thanks,

Cheers

Default It is the head of a sword cane...LOL

I can get them wholesale....lol...retail for the cane is $25 but it is basically pot metal... if you want red eyes, just center punch the eyes, drill them out a bit, and superglue in two red plastic "gems".

My shift knob is turned Padouk wood...just need the right threaded sleeve to match the shifter thread..will be replacing the elm dash on my West Coast with this same wood...matches the MK 2 Elegante wheel which the car has now.
