Default Cobras By The Bay-wow!

HEY GUYS
WOW, WHAT A WEEKEND!!!!! ALTOGETHOR WE HAD 13 FANTASTIC COBRAS IN ATTENDANCE. WE HAD CARS FROM SAN ANTONIO, SUGARLAND, HOUSTON, CEDAR PARK, KOUNTZE, BOERNE, AND OF COURSE CORPUS CHRISTI. THOSE PARTICIPATING WERE CURT LEZQUI, SCOTT ROBERTS, KEN SMITH, GERRY MILLER, DENNIS MOSLEY, STRETCH WILLIAMS, RYAN LOGAN, BLAKE OLSON, DAVID SHELTON, DWIGHT AND JUDY MURRAY, BILL HALL, JACK MCKENZIE, AND OF COURSE YOURS TRULY PAUL CASS. TALK ABOUT BEING THE ENVY OF THE TOWN. LOTS OF LOOKERS. LOTS OF QUESTIONS AND MAYBE SOME NEW MEMBERS.
TAILGATE PARTY STARTED AT MY SHOP AROUND 5 WITH A LIVE REMOTE TV COVERAGE THAT LASTED ABOUT 5 MINUTES. A COUPLE OF COBRAS AND OTHER CARS FOR VIEWING. COBRAS AND OTHER CARS ARRIVED UNTIL ABOUT 10:30. EVERYONE, INCLUDING CARS WERE PUT TO BED BY ABOUT MIDNIGHT. SEVERAL OF US MET AT MY SHOP AROUND 8 AM SATURDAY AND LEFT FOR THE FORD DEALERSHIP ATOUND 8:30. RYAN LOGAN BROUGHT HIS ASSEMBLED BUT NOT PAINTED FF AND DECIDED TO JOIN IN THE CRUISE TO THE DEALERSHIP. WAY TO GO RYAN. AS PEOPLE COULD SEE WHAT ONE OF THESE COBRAS LOOKED LIKE IN A BUILD STAGE HIS COBRA ATTRACTED A LOT OF QUESTIONS. AT THE DEALERSHIP WE ENDED UP WITH ABOUT 35 CARS TOTAL WITH A BIG CROSS SECTION OF VEHICLES.
WE LEFT THE DEALERSHIP FOR THE EVENT CENTER, AGAIN ATTRACTING A LOT OF ATTENTION. AFTER A SHORT STOP AT THE EVENT CENTER THE COBRAS LEFT FOR THEIR CRUISE AROUND THE BAY. I FEEL BAD HERE IN THAT BECAUSE OF A MISCOMMUNICATION ON MY PART CURT AND DWIGHT WERE LEFT BEHIND. MY SINCERE APOLOGIES TO BOTH AND THIS WON'T HAPPEN AGAIN. WE HAD A BEAUTIFUL CRUISE AROUND THE BAY WITH A STOP IN ROCKPORT TO EAT SEAFOOD AT CHARLOTE PLUMMERS. GOOD FOOD. BY THE TIME WE ARRIEVED BACK TO THE EVENT CENTER A NUMBER OF THE PEOPLE WERE GETTING TIRED SO THE EVENT FINISHED A LITTLE EARLY. STRETCH WILLIAMS AND HIS BAND PROVIDED FANTASTIC MUSIC. ALL IN ALL I THINK IT WAS A VERY GOOD EVENT. NEXT YEAR WILL BE EVEN BETTER. I ALREADY HAVE A BETTER IDEA FOR THE CRUISES. AS THIS OLE AGGIE GREW UP WITH SLIDE RULES AND PENCILS I'M NOT VERY GOOD AT DOWNLOADING PICTURES BUT I THINK THAT A NUMBER OF PEOPLE TOOK SOME. I'LL TRY TO SEE THAT SOME ARE POSTED.
12TH MAN AWARD GOES TO DAVID SHELTON AND BLAKE OLSON. DAVE DROVE HIS CMC THE MOST MILES AND BLAKE FINISHED HIS ON THURSDAY AND STARTED THE TRIP WITH 9 MILES ON THE ODOMETER. I'M A WIMP AS I TRAILER MINE TO THE EVENTS.
I'D LIKE TO THANK COORS LITE AND CROSSTOWN FORD AS THE MAJOR SPONSORS FOR THE EVENT. BILLY BAISH FOR SCHEDULING THE SHOW AT FIESTA SQUARE. AND THE COBRA CLUB MEMBERS THAT CHIPPED IN TO PAY FOR SECURITY-WHICH DIDN'T SHOW, SO I GAVE THE MONEY TO THE DJ WHO THOUGHT HE WAS WORKING FOR FREE. AND ALL MY MUSTANG CLUB BUDDIES WHO HELPED OUT.
FOR ME IT WAS REALLY GREAT TO SEE A BUNCH OF BEAUTIFUL COBRAS TO SHOW OF TO CORPUS CHRISTI.
THANKS TO ALL,
PAUL
PS THE AGGIES BEAT OKLAHOMA!

Thumbs up

Hey guys...had a great time. I am worn out...I'll keep this short because I have to get to bed. Won't be worth a damn tomorrow...

Thanks to MustangMendez for the tuning work/tips...car runs much much better now.

Before the weekend I wasn't in that big of a hurry to get the car done...I figured another month or two would be fine. A 5 mile a drive and a little taste of what's to come and,...next thing you know, the car's with the painter and is to be finished in 2 weeks. Oh my...better get that color picked. I have at least 72 hours...so all is good.

Spent all day today driving around to car dealerships looking for the perfect color of blue. Oh so many choices...got it narrowed down to two....any comments appreciated...can't find a good picture of the dodge blue?

2003 Dodge - Atlantic Blue Pearl Coat
(new medium blue color for dodge trucks)

2002 Mercury - French Blue Clearcoat Metallic

As my first trip, I got home and said " when's the next event". True, I started with 7 miles, and ended with over 400 & a sunburn.

It was great to meet people, that you only know from the forum, in person. The whole event was great. The show, the cruise, the food, the cold beer, the friends...awesome.

I have about 15 photos I'm trying to upload to the photo gallery but keep getting an error. I'll let you know when I got it complete....

Glad that craig and patty got a ride...I'm sure Craig is out in the shop as we speak turning a wrench on his B&B.

Ryan....that blue is great....i wanna check it out in person. might go over to the dealer this week...

Paul...Thanks for letting me keep my car at your shop...great event.

Reminder: San Antonio Chapter TCC meeting on the 23rd

Blake

Smile Picked the color...

I went with the Atlantic Blue Pearlcoat...I saw a truck painted that color during lunch and that's all it took. Whew...one less thing to worry about....

Now, on to insurance...

Paul - Thanks again for all your hard work. We all had a good time. I look forward to the trip again next November.

Dennis, David, and I had a nice cruise back to Houston (Kountz for David). There were a few spots on HWY 77 where there were no cars and we could see for miles. I call these "low risk" areas, perfect for a little bit of spirited driving. Nothing like rolling on the throttle from 65 to the century mark just for the fun of it.

By the way, did I win any of the three Saleen Mustangs for having the most dead bugs on the front of my car?

Thanks again!

Scott, SPF#1230
