Joint S.A./Austin gathering - Gruene, TX - Dec 7th?
Anyone interested...? Is it too soon after the Austin monthly meet?
I will be out of town on the 14th and the 21st and I figure the further away from christmas vacation the better. Blake says he can get us some spots for the cars reserved....! I just want to get an idea for the interest that might be out there. Of course, much of this depends on what the weather does between now and then.
It can be somewhat informal but if we are going to reserve parking, we probably need to let blake know so we can get the arrangements underway.
Even if you only think you "might" come let us know...

I like it!
The 7th is bad for me but I think this is a great idea.
The 21st is too close to Christmas. So That limits the days.
Things are looking good for the end of the year in the TCC.

Just let me know...The owners of Gruene Hall are always very accomodating(as we have our bands playing there often).
If you have never been to Gruene, it is truly one of the coolest towns in Texas. home of Gruene Hall and the Grist Mill resturant. Lot's of little shops, and the Guadalupe River runs right through it....
I'm in...

It *used* to be the coolest town in Texas... fifteen years ago. That is until some investors from WALL STREET built two dozen fakey-antique houses filled with t-shirts, bandanas and sunglasses and anything you can paint a Texas flag on, and then built a Six-Flags-eque paved parking lots with shuttle buses and RV parking....
Now its just one more tourist trap. Any true Texan wouldn't be caught dead in Gruene... he'd get run over by some Doc Marten sandal-wearing yuppie in a Bimmer just transferred to Austin from NEW YORK CITY --
I've got my true Texas haunts... but I'm keeping them to myself...

The way I see it, it's our duty to dirty it up again... we need to run off all the wannabe's... Most yuppies hate nothing worse than loud obnoxious noises...well okay, maybe loud obnoxious Texans rank right up there...?

Oh believe me..I have mine too....there are some real "gems" out where I live.
Armadillo on the River - bar/bowling alley built in the 1800's. It's in downtown Comfort. Only open on Sundays from 4:00pm-9:00pm. Live music, bar-b-que and $1.50 beers. they loved the cobra.
Luckenbach - not too much of a tourist trap yet. might be hard to find a place to park cobras amongst all the harleys.
Nelson City DanceHall and Saloon - Weflare, Tx - Thurs-Sat - $1.00 Coors light, all the time. Live music friday and saturday.
Riley's Devil's Backbone Tavern - Ranch Road 12, near wimberly and san marcos. great Cobras roads to and from.
Waring General Store - Waring, Tx - Wednesday Night Steak Night. The love the cobra there. Talk of the town (well..only about 25 people live in the town)

If I could Pick!
If I could pick a date the the 14th of December works for me.
Otherwise I'm pretty tied up on the 7th and the 21st I've got family coming in.
So I pick the 14th.
Gruene, can't as bad a Wimberly. I've never seen so many shops in a little town.

If it's the 14th..I can't be there. I'll be out of the country that week.
I don't know if I'll be there anyways, as I have oil shooting out of my sidepipes and no oil pressure

Blake, I hope your engine problem isn't serious, but if it is, I think there is a brand new 392 Windsor stroker that someone isn't going to use. (We may have to meet in Lockhart after dark to "procure" it though.)
