Hey Austin Guys
If any of you would have time to drive by and check out the parking on a couple of hotels for me before Friday please email me at cobraden66@houston.rr.com with your phone number and email and I'll call you with the info.
Tony has offered to make the drive but thats a bit far just to look at parking lots.
I just want to make sure the parking lot will hold 30+ trailers and that they can drive in and out without backing out. I have it narrowed down to a couple so this is the final check before we start locking things down.
You won't have to set an appt or talk to anyone. Just need to confim parking area is suitable.
Thanks Guys

Thanks Cammer!
I was hoping someone in Austin with some trailer experiance would rise to the occation. I have no trailer experiance, and for me to make that call ("driving in and out without backing out"), I would not know what to look for. Thanks Cammer.

Speaking of Austin Guys
Many of the Austin members haven't surfaced all year since the 2002 Spring Meet. It would be nice to see your old faces again. Please try and come to our January monthly meet. We need your inputs, assistance and/or support for the 2003 Spring Meet.

Lets meet some place and Look!
Hey instead of one guy having to make the call.
Lets meet at the hotels on Saturday and we can make the call together.
It's been awhile since I did any serious trailer backing or parking. But it would be a good excuse to get out of the house
What do you guys think.

hey guys, either way I would like to put this part of the planning to bed by Monday afternoon if these places are ok. That way people have the information before many of them leave for the Holidays and we can get that part out of the way.
Let me now which one you like and I will sign the papers and get it covered.

Greg I cant make it this Saturday Sorry .I have my welder coming over to make new motor mounts for the MY Cobra and I am really behind on my work And get ready for a company Christmas Party for my helpers .
I trust Cammers Decision so I will back his decision .
Our president did say that Holiday inn was very egger and has had experiences with other car clubs .
Quote :
They have been one of the host hotels for the Austin Classic Car Show for the past 3 years, so they are use to Car people and why would the ACCS people go back if the hotel couldn't handle them.
They have offered to give us a free "Hospitality" lounge on the first floor
This sounds good to me

Checking Hotels
Dee, Jacque, and I spent Saturday morning checking out several hotels. Dee will post our findings as soon as he gets some feedback on parking and security from hotel management. Stay tuned!

Quick Update
Dennis - Both hotels had insufficient parking for our trailer needs. The Holiday Express has a huge parking area (not theirs) behind them that will satisfy all our needs. Good 183 & IH35 access. Dee has asked for the Holiday manager to see if we can get permission from the adjacent building management to use their parking lot over the weekend. We are also asking Holiday management to provide 24 hour security for the weekend. As soon as Dee finds out what Holiday Express can do for us, Dee will up date you.
There are several additional Hotels next to Holiday Express we can use for additional boarding. Plenty of adjacent resturants as well.
Dee & Jackie also looked at additional hotels and will report soon.
We're almost there, hang tight!
