KMP #142 - Pipes are In!!!
After a few miscues, the headers and side pipes are finally here. Ordered a set from Drew Serb (owner of CSX 3022, the Kimbel cutaway car) and they are absolutely beautiful. Finely made, and accurate in all respects. I have seen several makes, and there IS a difference! I would recommend them to anyone building an original spec car.
Fitted up the headers last night (kind of a bear, particularly the left rear pipe) but they all aligned beautifully. Have spotted the side body cuts, and will do those cuts when we return from California after the holiday. Drew included a template taken from 3022, and it looks great.
Very nervous about sawing into my aluminum body but patient advice from the Kirkhams will get me through it. Thanks, David, Tom, and Steve for your help. Barring any problems, should be running by Jan 11th or sooner.
Looking forward to attending the next TCC meeting in the original "bare naked lady" and attending DVSF III later in the year!!!
