Terry - everything said above is true and the color will always be a conversation piece. Dallas TCC had a gumball a several weeks ago - in the bright sunlight - the car was a beautiful blue and looked different from the other pesky blue cobras in the group. Later in the day, the sun went behind the clouds and the cars were parked at Keller's under an overhead cover. That is when the car took on a different shade. I have not seen it at night, but understand it looks different at night, too.

Although the car does not have "Big Block" bragging rights (396 stroker man myself) of a 427 - this car would run circles around just about any car out there.

Well, enough from the Dallas sales staff.

Thumbs up

I will be there Sat. I'm pretty sure Harvey Vance will be coming if he doesn't have to fly.

All:

To date, looks like 34 head at IHOP!!!

If possible, come a little on the early side, so we can begin filling up the separate room.

Raymond the manager is going the extra mile on this (typically very busy) so eat a LOT!!

See you tomorrow.

Jim

TerrySPF,

If you want a killer small block stroker this is the car for you. I've been known to tune many of these cars including Drew's and this car is awesome! Better hurry as I too have interest in this one. Sold my Cobra a few months ago and locked my money up in Ford Stock but if it pops up, this car may be gone!

Gary - Now you have me worried..............Drew's ad said the car had less than 300 miles on it. It needed a tune-up already???? Must be that solid mech roller cam!!! I wonder how much power it would loose if I switched it to a hydraulic roller???? hmmm.....
I wish I could have made it to your meeting guys! But with the short notice, and coming all the way from Chicago, it would have cost me a bundle to fly out there! Have fun! Must be nice to have the warm weather!!!

Hey,
I'll be there with my girlfriend. Although she keeps saying she'd rather go see some real horses at the rodeo in Houston...not gonna happen.

Sorry, I didn't read well enough. Thought this was in Austin.
I will not be there.

Terry,

I haven't done anything to this car other than a couple minor adjustments to the carb when he first got it. Most of the time all these motors are setup to rich as all engine builders want plenty of fuel in them, when they dyno them. Even the Ford Crate Motors we have had, needed minor carb jetting adjustments.

Drew put all the top parts in this motor and I wouldn't change a thing. The solid roller lets it RPM more which is more HP! You won't need to adjust these lifters very often, because he put the very expense T & D shaft mounted rockers on it. If you really want to know about this engine, call Keith Kraft 870-2467460. I want one like it.....

Hey Terry,

Forgot to ask you where you live in Chicago. That's my home town as I was born in Berwyn and grew up in Downers Grove.
Actually went to work for Ford Motor Company there prior to being transferred to Detroit and then/now Dallas. Great city as I have a lot of friends and relatives there still!

Default GREAT DAY yesterday, Thanks Jim!

Jim,
Thanks for setting up a wonderful breakfast meeting yesterday! 12 Cobras and 40(+/-) people showed up & had a great time. I really enjoyed a break (no pun intended) in my schedule, but I am sorry I missed the caravan over to get a "up close & personal" look at your Kirkham. I guess I will just have to wait for Austin!

Thanks, John, I had a great time, also.

Service was a bit "slow" at IHOP this time, but everybody got fed...eventually!!

Appreciate the help on reg and insurance issues, too.

Thanks again!

Jim

Thumbs up Jim..............

be sure to let us know how you make out on insurance, now that you have some special info to present to your agent. Glad we could help and it was nice to see your Kirkham up close and personal.

Jim:

After showing wife Kathy 3 separate policies that our agent said could not exist, she is so mad she is ready to change agents for all of our business!!!!!

Frankly, so am I.....

Glad to have everyone over. The positive comments were very much appreciated. It will be great to see everyone in Austin who can make it.

I'll let you know how we make out.

Although I couldn't make the breakfast, it was nice hooking up with several of you out in the parking lot. Having spent most of my time lately on a BMW board, it was refreshing to find a group where I'm not the only one over 50 yrs old (LOL).

Well, I'm going to need some creative financing to come up with a Cobra unless this market suddenly turns around. Hope to see you all again, and Boudy, I would definitely like to see your Back Draft when you get it; I also live in Southlake.

Thanks all,

Doug

Doug: I'll post when my car gets here cause several are interested in checking out the new car.

Where are you? Several of us live in the area.

Boudy, I live in Timarron. Prior to my M5, previously drove around in a white 993 C4S Porsche with a roll bar, and prior to that had a Black Mallett 435 Vette, may be you've seen me??

Good luck with the Back Draft, I am anxious to see it.
