Hey would you guys mind if a wannabe came to ogle your cars? I would love to swing by if I can get done early enough with haircuts for me and my son.

Several years ago, I almost pulled the trigger on a Superformance after seeing what a great job Doug Reed and Olthaff did in the One Lap with that burgendy car. This childhood obsession just doesn't want to go away.

Do any of you know John Baird and his Marlin Blue / White SPF? It's for sale on Cobra Country (and here also) and wondered if anyone has knowledge of the car (seen it, rode in it, etc...). It lookes like a nice car..........and FAST.

Default Drew's Car

I have seen it, and heard it. The jacka$$ hasn't given me a ride in it yet though.

Seriously, it is one of the nicest cars around. The custom built Keith Craft 418 is truly amazing. Lots of extras on this car.

There's a picture of it in my gallery.

Sadly enough, I will not be able to make the morning meeting at IHOP on Saturday. My flight from NC to DFW does not arrive until around noon. My regards to the two Garys, Matt and the other Texas Cobra friends that I have yet to meet personally.

I hope to be there with my wife. Sorry for the slow response. I have been off the web for several weeks.

It sounds like John's (Drew's) SPF is worth looking at? I hear that the Keith Craft 418 will dust most big-blocks also (not just 460 crates either). I understand that "Marlin Blue" is a VW color? I'm trying to find a VW in that color so I can check it out up close. Looks a little "purple" in some pictures. I've e-mail Mr. Baird and he seems like a great guy. Thanks for the info!

Talking Terry, come on over.

Terry,
I "think" it is a VW color, and I can tell you the pictures DO NOT DO IT JUSTICE. The Keith Craft 418 is not for the faint of heart, and I can tell you from experience, the car is FAST, and is at the very least one of the fastest Cobras in our club if not #1.
I do know it is quicker than my car, and mine sure is not slow. Please, come join us Saturday morning and look at all the cars.

Terry,

The marlin blue does look kind of purple in the right light. The engine!!! well lets just say Drew doesn't screw around. I can admit it because its been done...he pulled me by alot!!...It don't sound like no Small Block and Drew is a great guy and anal as hell about that car...I challenge people to find something wrong with it...The engine reminds me of a comp 289 I heard once...you can't tell if its a BB or SB it just sounds mean!!!

If you can get the flight down I know he would take you for a ride.

All I can say about Drew's car is that it's BLUE and that should cover it....BUT I will admit that it's Damn Fast and I would know as I'm one of the few who has played with him.

Drew is one of the BLUE BROTHERHOOD!!

You can't ask for anything more than Drew's car. You should take a serious look at it.
