trailer parking
I will be towing my cobra to the Origin parking garage on Saturday. Is there parking for trailers at the Origin? If not, where do we leave our trailers?

Height Problem!
Curt,
Height might be a problem. But you can probably park the trailer next to the building and drive up into the parking garage.
I'll let others chime in!

Curt your screwed
Is the car drivable? Then I would suggest you get to the hotel early and park there...drive the car to the garage...if I remember right there are no good places to put something like an enclosed. What time are you arriving in Austin?

trailer parking
I do not want to offend the folks who put this event together, but why would you choose a location that can't accomodate trailers? It makes no sense to me.
I should be arriving in Austin by 10:00AM. Where should I go to meet up with the group?

Curt.....the Hotel is our home base for everything. The Origin parking garage is just the first stop of our weekend where we meet and socialize. All of our trailers will be at the hotel which is I think not too far from Origin. Looking forward to seeing another ERA brethern.

Curt,
Don't get discouraged.....leave an hour earlier and you will have plenty of time. You wouldn't want to park at the garage anyway...the cruise ends up back at the hotel.

Curt,
do you know the kind of abuse you will have to take from Ryan and especially Blake for trailering your car from San Antonio?
Really, once the day starts, this is a driving event. Lots of work was done by the planners of this event to make sure that there was a place to park all the trailers. As a matter of fact that was the number 1 priority. That is the main reason they picked the hotel they did for the event.
Come on over a little eariler, drop the trailer off at the hotel and let's have some fun
Look forward to meeting you,
el Aggie presidente

Curt,
Are you kidding, trailering from San Antonio to Austin? I was stationed at Bergstrom AFB from 1961 till 1966. We thought nothing of driving roundtrip from Bergstrom AFB to Lackland AFB just for dinner at NCO Club.
Was no big deal, although you had to keep an eye in rear view mirror for DPS. I hope to get back there someday, sure would like to see how the place is changed. I read that Berstrom is now the municipal airport.. Lived offbase on Rutherford PL. in town. I have alot of fond memories of Austin, although Whitman up in UT Tower was scarey as hell. We were down on Univesity Drag at the time of shootings. Had to run for cover. By the way is Austin still football crazy?
Tom S.
PS. Curt not trying to piss you off but we have cabin fever here on L.I. and alot of us would jump at the chance to get out on the road without snow, sand, salt. The whole east coast is getting a little fed up with this winter.
Hope you all (y'all)have a good weekend and nice weather too.

Curt -
For whatever reason you have, here is an alternative for you (I parked here last year because I was blocking the lane through the hotel parking lot, so I moved in the morning) -
There is a Sam's near the NE intersection of Hwy. 1 and 360 (about 1/2 block E on 360). Park the trailer there and it is only about 2 miles to the Origin garage. This is the best alternative I saw. There is absolutely NOTHING near the garage (I had to bring my trailer there to load my car up (blown freeze plug), and had to park along the access road - cones and triangles and all.
Regards,
Frank Newman

OK...OK...OK
Thank you for all of your comments. I know I'm a wimp and should drive my ERA to Austin but I choose to trailer it to keep the milage on my Cobra under the 3,000 mile limit imposed on me by my insurance company.
On another matter, I just found out last night night that my trailer was damaged by someone I had loaned the trailer to recently. What a bummer!!!
