Default Thanks To TCC

I would like to thank everyone involved in planning the Austin meet. My family and I had a ball! Everything was well thought-out and first rate! Thanks for your time and effort. Maybe we should do this twice a year?

Thumbs up

This weekend was awesum!!! hey... I even made the light at Wimberley. We weren't so lucky at Dripping Springs, i think the light there is even longer. That was the best cruise EVER! Thank to all you guys and gals who made it possible!

You guys really know how to throw a party! From the welcoming tents with real Louisana Gumbo, to the gearhead discussions with Jay and the guys in the bar over real Shiner Bock, to the nice compliments about my VERY dirty car, to the cruise where you made opportunities for us to pass (we were hungry ) to the unforgettable baby back ribs at the Gristmill, it was first class all the way. David and I were truly impressed with everyone we met and had a great time.

Special thanks to Doug Reed who spent time with us and answered all my questions about running (and winning) the One Lap and everyone who stopped by to meet us.

My only regret was that I did not have time to meet everyone, especially the owner of the silver Cobra with the black stripe and the SOHC 427. If you read this please tell us the story of how you acquired that awesome engine and squeezed it into your ERA.

Texans ROCK!
Paul

Paul, it was a pleasure meeting you. (Even though the distributor on your engine is near the firewall. Shame on you!)

I told Paul it was in the wrong place, but we could move it.

With a few modifications!?

Thumbs up Another GREAT one in the books!!

Well,
Let me be the 7th to say "TEXAS COBRA CLUB, you have done it again"!!!
Each year we have had a wonderful time, and this year we went over the top!!
I truly believe we have found a host hotel, and Ed truly did a superlative job with the cruise, because this one was the best ever! The length was right, the drive was incredible, and Gruene was a blast! Heck, I even enjoyed the drive home yesterday(except the event was over).
Paul, thanks for making the drive out to join us, and please come back next year WITH your son!! As usual, the Louisiana crowd is growing and REALLY knows how to both feed and throw a party! Flyin' Freddie certainly makes a good addition to the Tennessee contingent with my friend Richard Price, and what can I say about Clois and his wife driving down from Tulsa to party with us(Clois, please log on with word you made it home OK and hopefully beat the 8 INCHES of snow the weather channel told me you got hit with)!
Yes, it is about the people, and I truly believe we have the BEST local club in Club Cobra, and if anyone choses to dispute that, just come next year & find out for yourself!
Last but not least, Thanks to Dennis and the Austin group for setting up a truly GREAT event!
John Russell

ps: Steve..word,what word? Dang, that's what I get for posting at 5:00am before I got to work! By the way, you missed a LOT of them, so I'm bad also.....

We had a wonderful time this past weekend. It was good to get away and visit with friends. Yes we did miss the red, ghost flamed, 24k plated weber topped fire breathing dragon this year, but we have something in the works that will be better. Thanks to Greg , Ed, Tony and everyone else I could never remember to thank for your efforts.

This was a perfect schedule, nice drive and at a leisurly (sp) pace. The only thing I would suggest to change would be a little less time at the garage and more time in Greene. But I am NOT complaining. It was a weekend to remember.

Greg, we need to paint your car Camo!

John Russell, I simply can't believe YOU actually misspelled a word, wow at least the heat is off me, I know I can't spell. hahaha

Family, Friends & Cobras. What more could anyone want....
Oh yea, and one completely bad A$$ GT40.

As an outsider I want all of you to know how welcome you made Sharon and I this weekend. We had a great time and Kudo's to all the planners. To have as many Cobra's show up as you did, you kept everything on schedule and flowing smoothly. To all our new friends we met at TCC we plan on coming back next year. Hill Country is absolutely beautiful when seen from a Cobra.

Hopefully, I will see many of you in Tulsa for the Mid-America Shelby event June 19-22, 2003.

Thanks again,

Clois and Sharon Harlan-Tulsa, OK

PS-When I arrived home last night Tulsa had 6" of snow at my house but parts of North Tulsa had as much as 15" of snow. When I unload the Cobra tonight I will take a picture and try and post it so you guys can see how lucky you are not to have snow to come home to.

Clois, there are no "outsiders". I'm sorry I didn't get to stick around long enough to meet all of our new TCC friends, brush my teeth with hot sauce, etc., but all of US are sure glad you folks all joined the fun. At various times on Saturday I was following Cobras with California, Oklahoma, Tennessee, and Louisiana plates--what a great event!

Just get Robert Earl Keen to play a TCC benefit at Gruene Hall during next year's meet and it will be impossible to top. C'mon, you Aggies, pull some strings!
