Sounds like it is as bad as when a throttle butterfly screw went though a roots blower. bounced around then cracked a piston. That was a long time ago but I remember the sound well. "What the F*** was that, Oh S*** why don't I have any power. Oh wait that is what I said........
Hope your lost "nut" was less of an experience.

Yeah. I got lucky so far....motors running fine. Just one unlucky nut! Not very recognizable though!
