Lightbulb SCCA at TMS on Sunday, May 4th, 2003??

O.K. Guys & Gals,
For those of you that attended the April 5th lunch at TMS courtesy of Don Barnes, I need your response to this proposal, either yes or no.
The TCC has been invited to participate as a Club at the Parts Plus SCCA Grand Prix of Texas, with a membership booth/car gathering inside for a maximum of 10 cars. This is a Saturday/Sunday event, and they are aware of our prior commitment to the AER car show on Saturday, May 3rd(which I cannot attend- Lyndsie has her final Club Volleyball tournament on May 3rd.)
I am in process of pulling my Holley and sending it off to be "tuned", so Sunday is out for me as far as my car is concerned.
The gates will open to car clubs at 8:30, with the general public arriving at 9:00am. The Speedway closes at 6:00pm , and we can then mosey on home. We can set up a membership booth(anyone have one?) or hospility tent (?), display 10 cars max, and sell club merchandise(what merchandise?). I will make copies of th eClub participation request in the event we have more than 10 people that want to do this(all we would need to do is have a "branch" ie, Dallas chapter, Ft. Worth chapter, Mesquite, etc, etc). 2 day event passes are $5.00/ea.
I have been remiss on posting this because the group of people I have spoken with have not been interested in 2 days back to back, but if you are, PLEASE post your name & address here. The first positive gets to run the deal since I won't be there with my car.
I do plan to try and come out to support Don in his Panoz as he blows away his competition, so let's see what interest this event has for a Club event. I have left messages for Gary Godley with the SCCA, but I have not had a return call as yet.

I'm in! I went out last year and had a blast. Defintely worth the 5 bucks for two days. For those who plan on going over after the AER show (me included) may want to consider this so you can part on the infield instead of parking outside and walking in.

See Ya there,

John
