Question TCC Networking

We have a good group of people in TCC. We mostly all seem to get along most of the time with each other. We all need resources from time to time that are outside our own knowledge or capabilities. I was thinking that I know what alot of our fellow TCC buddies do for a living but there are loads of new guys in our group that I do not even know thier real name, but only the TCC name used here.

I was wondering if there would be any interest of everyone posting what thier real name is and what they do for a living or have special knowledge about on this thread and we could all use this to do business with each other when possible.

I do not think this should turn into an advertising page, and I WILL NOT BE A MEDIATOR IF A PROBLEM ARISES! I would just like to do business with my friends if possible.

For example I met Tom Meadows because of the Cobra and today he provides my sand for all the new homes we build......... That kind of thing.

I work for a custom coach manufacturer & leasing company in Comfort, Tx. We build the insides of custom Prevost coaches for use in the entertainment industry(Tour Buses for rock stars if you will).

They are not limited to rock tours, however, if you ever want a great way to vacation, goto the race track, or take a roadtrip to the DVSF, etc...give me a call...hook up your trailer, and travel in style! The best part, is you will be hard pressed to find a hotel that is nicer than inside of our coaches.

all best,

blake

I am pretty much useless! Thats why I am the TCC president...I didn't put up much of a fight!

I make my money designing military training simulators, and I blow it by building/restoring cars and taking up an excessive amount of hobbies! I also do some graphic design work on the side and T-shirts as well as modeling and animation. Although, with the new baby I find myself doing lots of baby things!

I work for a company that provides valuation software to the commercial real estate industry. Company Name is Realm and the 2 major products that I handle are software packages called DYNA and ARGUS.

I also know a bunch about pets as I use to own a pet store.

My head is full of a ton of other usless knowledge.

I'm almost as useful as Ryan...

AKA Boudy

I was telecommunications when telecommunications wasn't cool. Now Plano is the T-Com capital of the world.(and falling fast - HaHa) I specialize in the RF field and cater to the voice and data needs of the Public Safety industry.

The big wireless broadband boom several years ago resulted in a bunch of network guys building out several RF systems in Dallas because the manufacturers told them the the RF systems were Plug-and-Play. Working with several of the broadband vendors to resolve RF issues gave me enough consulting work on the side to start Hi-Per Rods and here we are.

I look forward to meeting the rest of you guys.

Mechanical Engineer.

Motion control design engineer in the entertainment industry. If you go to a concert, or watch one of the prime-time awards or reality shows, or attend a Broadway type theater, you see the lights sweeping across the stage and audience, changing colors and effects. Well, I'm the one that makes 'em move. I use software, microcontrollers, steppermotors, opto-mechanical gizmos and a little bit of "magic".

I a previous life I worked on commercial airliners and helicopters, including one called a "Cobra".

I own a small consulting company near Houston. We generally support the oil and gas industry with custom software solutions, engineering, project management and other related services. My background is midstream gas services and my partner came from the aerospace industry so we are heavy on the engineering side but have ventured into support for other areas as well; manufacturing, aerospace, financial services, food services. (Anything for a buck)

Most of the projects I take on personally are related to automation or monitoring of processing facilities. At the moment most of my staff is consumed by one of our clients that is a heavy hitter in the international financial community. Counting beans is not my thing.

Like Ryan all this is to support my fledgling but growing Cobra habit.

I am a brand new member as of 6 11 03 and happy to be here. I am not an owner as yet but AM a mucho serious looker. Have been for about 5 months now. Just wanted to say thanks to all for the education I have received from all your posts. I am ready to buy and will know it when I see it. By the way.....I am in houston and would love to hear about any events or gatherings that would welcome a non-owner (for the time being) for conversations, a first hand look, a drink or two or three, and some BS'ing. I knew I was going to fit in well here this morning when I started seeing how useless a lot of the others are also.

I am an owner of a distribution and fabrication company for pipe, valves, and fittings, in the municipal water and wastewater industry. Supplier of Ductile Iron, Carbon and Stainless Steel piping for Water Plants, Pump Stations, Water Treatment Plants, etc... My partners labeled me "useless" when I started riding Harleys.........now, I think extemely useless may aplly.

Default I LOVE bein' useless!

Greg Rice-Just a telcom geek with no sense.

I manage 2 groups of software engineers for a living, (mainframe provisioning stuff and Federal Gov stuff...boring, really.) at a large Telco Company based in Kansa City, and, (the fun stuff), I buy/fix/sell houses and stuff, the stuff generally being something to do with cars.

Lowell Youngblood

Sales Director in Houston for a large telecommunications company based in San Antonio. I'm on the data side of the house, we specialize in data equipment and services for medium to global corporations. Routers, switches, firewalls, IP telephony and all the professional services that complement these products. I have 14 sales reps spread across South Texas and I'm still trying to find a way to write off BlueCobra as a business travel expense.

When I'm not listening to the side pipes roar I kayak and mountain bike in warm weather and hunt birds and deer when it cools down. My next project is a new kitchen that was negotiated in the bargaining agreement for BlueCobra.

I am pleased to see that there are others in the club who also perceive themself to be useless...however I believe that I am up to any challenge, and can substantiate my claim as 'most useless' TCC member! I joined the Club at the AER show in May, and have yet to attend another event yet! How useless can a Cobra Lover be?? However I did attend SAAC 28 in Nashville...and got an invite to Carroll Shelby's ranch, in Pittsburg, TX last week. That was a pretty cool day! Trivia experts please note that you take right turn(west) off of Hwy. 271 @ Cluckingham Palace, aka Bo Pilgrim's house, to get to the Shelby spread.
I am currently waiting-out my final year of a noncompete agreement before re-entering the Construction Equipment Industry. Sold my 20 year old Construction Equipment Dealership to United Rentals a few years ago and moved up to even MORE SWEET NOISE, when I purchased a CSX 4000..the 'Silver Bullet.' My wife has restricted me to daylight driving hours, as a few of the neighbors are not outwardly as enthusiastic w/125 decibels of venom!! I am not much of a mechanic..but am an excellent polisher!! If anyone ever needs actual construction equipment knowledge, I would be quite pleased to help, but then I could lose my status as 'least ueseful!

Well lets see what name we are this month. We have velcro on our shirts.....LOL. I work for Texas Genco which is 80% owned by Centerpoint Energy. We split into 2 companies which are Reliant Resources and Centerpoint Energy. Before we ever heard of deregulation we were Houston Lighting & Power which was owned by Houston Industries. Texas Genco consists of about 9 or so electric generating stations in southeast Texas. Mainly around the Houston area with exception to Limestone plant up near Buffallo Texas and STP in Bay City. We only get about 44% of the power from the nuke plant towards Houston the rest goes to Corpus, Austin and SanAntonio (when they run). I work in the Steam Generation Dept. I travel to all the stations to work on the boilers (a boilerrat). For the past 3 years I have been planning and scheduling for outages (shutdowns) sitting behind a computer screen. Almost 23 years with the company. Patrick Jones.

Cool Well let's see...........

Jim Woodard

Probably the most useless of the group so far.......38 years with American Airlines. Anticipating retirement and playing some golf with Mr. Sellards and maybe, Jay Nordstrom.

Currently responsible for the airline's cargo operations in the Americas. Includes, North, South, Central America and the Carribean. Lot's of experience in customer service and operations. I can assist in doing due diligence for start up operations and have a keen eye for assessing opportunities for take overs and aquisitions.

Not sure that translates into anything usefull, but it has been a fun and eventful career. It's also allowed me to meet and associate with ya' all which has more value than can be measured.

Wow

What a great response for the first day. I knew this would work, I have learned things about people that I knew and soem I just know from this site.

Also in my former life, Before we started building new custom homes and commercial properties, I spent 15 years as a Real Estate Banker.

Gerhardt Gast. Of course, you knew that since no one would have a handle like that for the net.

I teach English as Austin Community College, and hawk aloha shirts on the side.

I'm currently Cobraless, and thus feeling like a wall flower at the high school dance, but I'm working on a new one--probably the BDR that Blake and Robert sell.

Default Jack of all trades...master of none!

I own four businesses, and do two of them seriously. Big Willy's "Lip Smak'n Salsa" and "Nonna's Cucina" an Italian Bistro/sandwich shop. I own the old "Alvin Ords" sandwich shops name, of yore.

I used to be in the Telecom./Computer Engineering world (Consulted under my other business name "Osmar & Associates" for the past 23 years. So I can tell you a lot about past technology...none of which is useful now.

I have a 3rd Dan in Chinese "Teoul-Moon" Kung Fu and am a certified intructor. I teach cooking classes, played Drums, can play guitar and bass for the past 28 years, Brew my own beer, build one-of-a-kind guitars (Luthier under the name "Oz Custom Guitars") Made one for Joe Perry of Aerosmith.

Built and learned a lot doing my cobra and can talk your ear off if you let me. All of this...hence the name (not given BY Me to me!) "Renaissance Man" or "Ren Man" as most of you know me.

We (at Big Willy's) were just contacted by "Great Buys TV" (kind of like a QVC) in Florida that is hosted by Corbin Burnsen of L.A. Law to come to Florida and do a shoot to sell Big Willy's on their show in November/December. So, when that hits it big and Nonna's Cucina gets into the 6-figures, I'll be calling Steve Parks to build my new home!

I hope that you guys will come and see my at the restaurant for a TCC meet one Saturday. Sunday is my only day off. I'd love to host an event ! Call me at 512/863-3442. I can accommodate 60 people...currently!

Ciao for now,

David,
I'll be glad to build your new home when you are ready. Just let us know when. One of a kind Monsters are our favorite and our specialty.

I did not realize how many of the TCC memebers did the Kung Fu thing. I know Tony ( mustangMendez) does it to. I took fugitsu for about five years. The knees don't last long in that realm and I had to give it up. The .44 works better know anyway.

David
We need to plan a weekend for the club at your new place. I know you have had a local gathering there but to need to fill up your place with TCC members and soon. Once you make your Millions in salsa are you still going to remeber your friends?
