Houston July Meeting
The July Houston meeting will be at the So-Cal Speed Shop in Spring, TX. The meeting date is July 12th and starts at 10 am. If anyone is interested the area has lots of trees and very nice roads for a cruise after the meeting.
The shop specializes in classic, hot rod, vintage car and truck parts. For us old guys that still can remember our younger
days this is a franchise of the original shop in Southern California and they carry the So-Cal and Moon Eyes parts and
clothing. They have built an old classic service station that would make a nice background for pictures. There will several old Fords there also. I thought some place
different might be nice for a change.
Location
So-Cal Speed Shop
6721 Klein Cemetery Road
Spring, TX 77379
(281) 320-1212
Directions
The shop is out in the country on a dead end road and you would never believe it was there till you see it.
Take I-45 north and exit Louetta and go
west (left if coming from Houston)
turn right on Kuykendahl Rd then turn left on Spring Cypress (the first stop light)
go about 1.4 miles and turn left on Klein
Cemetery Rd and it is on the left side of
road.
All TCC members and guests (with or without a cobra) are more than welcome.
Let's set a record for number of cobras,
we need more than 20.

Sounds Cool!
Mike:
I will be in Houston that day trying to help someone finish building their Cobra.
I will try to make it to the meeting.
I live in Dallas, but I frequently visit Houston and would like to see the activity down there.
I dont (yet!) have a Cobra, but am looking!
Thanks,
Neil

If I can get my scanner to work, I'll send out an message on the new Houstoncobraclub yahoo group that I sent you guys info on last month.
Since I got the digital camera, haven't had much use for the scanner and I don't even think I loaded the drivers on the new computer...hope I can find them.

I just wanted to remind everyone about the July meeting this saturday. I
confirmed the
meeting today with the owner of the So-Cal Speed Shop. The shop offered to buy
pizza for us. I need some idea how many members and guest will be coming, if
you
would either e-mail me or post on Club Cobra in the Texas Cobra Club section.
If you are like me and a little tired of the usual restaurant parking lot where
people
can't tell a Cobra from a Mazda Miata and would like to meet some new car
folks, see
a speed shop (sorry no rice grinders) look at some beautiful 32/34 classic
Fords and
free pizza then I guarantee you won't be disappointed.

Mike, I wanted to thank you and Linda for setting this deal up today. It was really cool looking at all the primo rods at So-Cal. Also a big thanks to So-Cal folks for hosting us. It was good to see Morgan and Susan again (Y'all been away for too long!) Glad to see everyone else who attended too. I think there was 14 Cobras in attendance. Not too shabby folks!

Mike,
I just want to second David's thoughts. Had a great time, who knew So-Cal had so many nice rod's right in my backyard. Sherri and I are going to try and make one of their
“Hot dogs and hot rods” on a Thursday night.
In any case thanks to you and your wife for setting up such a great time.
Mark

As everyone has said, THANK YOU, Mike and Linda for setting up a great meeting.
For those of you that don't know, we also have Mike and Linda to thank for the Sundance Grill meeting spot.
They are so good at this that maybe we should let them pick all the meeting spot's! What do ya say Mike....

Dennis
Glad you had a good time. As far as Linda and myself picking all the meeting spots it would not be fair for us to have all the fun. My proposed meeting schedule would be one at the Sundance Grill, one at the So Cal Speed Shop then ten at your house (then we could help you with your 34 Ford roadster build). I know you want to be fair and balanced so are you going to paint it that shade of orange so popular in Austin or stay with the tried and true
A&M maroon.
David
I counted sixteen cobras but I think the total was closer to eighteen total. I do want to thank everyone that came and if you enjoyed your self as much as my wife and I did let's do it again.

This was my first meeting, I had a great time and what a great location. I was glad to meet a few of you but I know I didn't get to talk to everyone. Next time I'll be there earlier.
I posted my pics from Saturday here:
http://www.ofoto.com/I.jsp?m=8582441...03&n=283967567
If you don't already have an account with Ofoto you'll need to sign up but it's free. I did this in the interest of time & space, there's almost 100 pics.
Again, good to meet some of you and I look forward to meeting everyone next month. It might be a good idea to stay away from So-Cal, my wife will shoot me when I bring home a candy apple red hot rod.
Thanks,
Lowell

Lowell, thanks for posting your pix. Nice shots! We really didn't get a chance to talk, but maybe next meeting when we aren't surrounded by primo, early iron. They sure had some beautiful cars there.
