Thumbs down Texas Registration???

I was reading a post on the other forum and saw this http://www.txdps.state.tx.us/vi/Misc/faq/engine.html
It looks like TexDOT is cracking down. Now what should I do? My car will be out of the paint shop in a few weeks (hopefully after four months) and will be ready to register. Any help would be appreciated.

As always the key is how it is registered. If you get a 66 registration then those are the standards the vehicle has to meet not the current one!

Default Conflicting information

I posted that message on the ffcobra fourm. Someone replied with this link that seems to give another story:
http://www.ffcobra.com/ref.html

I think it is going to be a roll of the dice.

Please let me know how yours goes.

Angry I hate it But

The way , it goes is the way the state has it ,as a state inspector we are to do just as said by the year of the vehicle unless the engine has been altered then it goes by the year of the engine
Inspection stickers all have a barcode which are issued to the inspection station and the each sticker is accounted for .Any alteration of this is a crime and someone will be accounted for ,the only reasoned I do safety inspections is for my fleet customers it really make a difference on my mechanical side of business and other than that it really is a pain in the rear !
I really do believe by talking to the state inspector that if we got to gather we could have a different out look on kit cars as they could be tested as 60s non emission due to the small percentage of kit cars .
We all need to get together and fight !We just need to do it and not take this kind of crap !
So who wants to start ????
I'm in ...
