Movin' to Hosuton
Hi guys. Looks like I'll be moving from N Calf to Houston late this summer and bringing SPF 1580 along. Hope there's some Cobra guys in the S. Houston area? Also, how many of you run a/c units in your cars there to keep them usable in all the heat? Do your units work well? Vintage Air?
Look forward to meeting after we make the move.

HEAT
What heat ??
So far this summer it has only managed to get to 100 once.
sooner or later this summer I guess it will warm up.
I don't know anyone with an a/c in a Cobra.
It's all a matter of what you're used to.
You'll get used to it in time.
There are quite a number of Cobras in the Houston area. The monthly meetings would be the fastest way to meet everyone.
You will be welcomed with open arms.

No heat?!!!! @#$%*(
Hey, we've lived there before and in La too. Compared to the temps we're used to out here and the dry climate, I'm dreading the move back. But guess you're right, it's all what you get used to. We'll have to live with it.
Will look forward to getting together with other snake tamer's when we get there.
Thanks,

Come on StuM. There's plenty of SPF and others to play with around Houston. We meet every 2nd Saturday of the month. Just check here on the Texas Cobra Club Forum. Looking forward to meeting you. As long as you keep movin' doesn't get too hot! A/C is for candy-arses!

Said with a TV style mexican accent.....
A/C....you want our A/C....WE DON'T NEED NO STINKIN A/C....
Back to our normal voice...
Pete Gibbs down here runs A/C. He aslo has a cobra with a top and gull wing doors so he's cool year round! I drive my car year round and have never once thought about adding A/C. (ok maybe once...
Go to the Yahoo groups section and join the houstoncobraclub group. That way you will know when we have meetings and stuff. There is not a lot of messages sent (almost none) so you won't get bombbarded with emails but you will be kept up to date on the houston happenings.
Look forward to meeting you,
Dennis

We all get together in Austin in feb every year. about 65-70 cobras and about 250-300 people. That is not to be missed.
Does anyone have the actual numbers for TCC Austin 2003?

StuM
welcome to Texas!
I have A/C in my Cobra, but I have not used it . Its not cool to have the top on the car, its is hard to see out of and its hard to get in and out. It gets HOT in San Antonio but the car is still too cool! Don't waste your money on A/C, spend it on go fast stuff.

Thanks You'all
Gee guys, Now I'm afraid to even mention A/C again. Come to think of it, I'll turn on the heater in August just to be a man! You're right though, I hate the top up. Only had it on to try it out. We will most likely move in late August/Sept and probably looking mostly near Clear Lake this time. Like the water and boats too. My wife's dreading the combination of evil temptations, but you only live once! I'll stay in touch and join the club upon arrival. Thanks for the warm welcome.

Let me know when you get here. Maybe I can come down to Clear Lake in my Cobra and we can go over to my boat and take it for a spin....Your wife may learn to hate me quick...

Texas here we come
Dennis, It's ok. I corrupted many a good friend the same way with my cars and boats. Their wives just learned to live with it...and me! Mine is a good sport and usually goes along with all my crazy deals.
I keep tellin' her they're all "good investments and keep me from some other forms of entertainment and deviation, which is a good thing"!
We've been married over 27 years, so it's worked thus far.
