Unhappy Dick had to go back last night!

Oh man,
I called Barbara yesterday when I got home about 5:00 to check in and go over for a visit. Barbara told me that she had a call in to the Dr. due to an elevating temperature and headaches that were bothering Dick. I made my call short to open the phone line with a promise to touch base today.
I missed a call on my cell phone this morning from Barbara, but she left a message that she took Dick to the Emergency room last night, and that they admitted him again. There is a possibility he has a mild case of pneumonia due to the steroids, and the headaches certainly would not be uncommon. He is in room 711-b, which is a semi-private room. I called a few minutes ago and Dick's roommate passed the phone to him. He doesn't sound too good at the moment- go figure! I asked him to have Barbara call me with an update, but I don't feel he is is any shape for much company. This is most likely the second hurdle he has to get over, and let's all give both of them as much support as we can.
I will keep everyone posted as I learn any more facts.

Default Here's the latest word.

Folks,
I got a call this afternoon from Barbara, and she said Dick was a bit down in the dumps, and he could use some company. She also told me that they were going to move him into a private room. I got in touch with Tom, & we met at the hospital about 4:30. Sure enough, when er got to his room, he had been moved down the hall into room 706, which is a fairly large private room/suite. Tom & I stopped at the gift shop before going up, and Tom bought an Elmo baloon and a small furry creature that lets out a wolf whistle when thrown or dropped! We entered Dicks room and Tom stuck Elmo's head around the corner to let him know the clowns had arrived. Dick needs the company, and it is good for him to keep his brain working. We visited for about an hour, and a neighbor came in. I had to leave, so I left she and Tom holding down the fort. They could use some company tomorrow, so drop by if you are able. They hope to send him home again on Sunday, but I will update you on this tomorrow afternoon.

Ryan: We visited Dick on Saturday and he's doing fine, though he's really drained and tired. After about an hour, we left so he could get some sleep. He should have went home yesterday.

I wish Dick and his family the very best.

We should all keep in mind however, that if there is a God, there are no doubt plenty of Cobra's in heaven for Dick.

God Bless and GodSpeed........

I have swapped emails with Dick since he started his build and used him as a spring board for many questions I had. We continued to corresspond via email as I built my Unique.

I am saddened by the news and hope for the best. For those of you that know Dick tell him I will always think of him whenever I look at my silver FIA as he was instrumental in the final color selection.

God Speed Dick!

We all are thinking and praying for you! Just think of that little silver beauty sitting in the garage waiting for you to pop in and take it for it's next spin. It's lonely so hurry up and get well.....

Default Here's the latest update!

Well,
I spoke with Barbara and Matt(their oldest son) yesterday. Dick is still in the hospital, and the prognosis is somewhat better. It appears that Dick may not have had pneumonia, but had an allergic reaction to one of the drugs being administered to him, which caused a skin rash and a slightly elevated temperature.
That has been changed and he is beginning to stabilize, and they have removed him from all the external apparatus he has been attached to. He is walking laps, and now they are trying to get his sleep patterns back in order. I had planned to go see him directly from my office, but Barbara asked me to wait for a while since Matt had bought him dinner from Black Eyed Pea and was up there with him. I told them to call me when Matt left, which they did, so I went up last night and stayed with him from 7:00pm to 8:50 pm to keep him up and his brain active.
He looks pretty good (he shaved), gut he is having short term memory problems, which is understandable! I think he will be released within the next couple of days if he continues to show gradual improvement. I do not think he has a true handle on his situation yet, but he did not have time to prepare for this in the first place. He does enjoy seeing us, but I am still taking direction from his family. You can call them at home, or at the hospital (Medical City- room 706), and please continue to keep Dick and his family in your prayers...it works!
I will update you all as I learn more.
Thank you,
John Russell

Thanks John. In times of need is when people usually find out who the true friends are.

Thanks again,

Robert
