Default Second Dyno Session - Wow!

Talked to Drew this afternoon and it turns out there was a problem with the Brodix heads on my new 427 stroker, which cause a compression leak down. Rare deal from a C & C problem from Brodix.

Kieth Craft C & C a new set on heads today himself and installed. Numbers are in on this low compression baby and they are as follows:

637 HP and 605 Ft lbs Tork............. WoW!

Engine is built by Keith Craft Racing in Arkansas, who is best known for the Pro 5.0 engines and other Fast Fords.

351 W block bored and stroked to 427. Eagle Crank and Rods, dished pistons (10.6 compression) fully C & C Brodix Track II heads. Tons of head work, big valves, 5 angle cut valve job, T & D shaft mounted 1.6 ratio roller rockers, Cobra Pent Roof valve covers, solid roller cam 647 lift, MSD Ingition, Victor Jr Intake (port matched to heads). Canton Pan and zero balanced!

Engine going into a new SPF (Black with Gold Stripes) like the old Hertz GT 350 Shelby. TKO II Trans and lots of goodies. Can see pics of the car in my gallery along with last SPF I sold last fall. Should have pics of engine next weekend!

Gary! WOW!!! great numbers.
I bet you can't wait to go watch this beast on the dyno.
I almost jumped out of my skin when Keith hit the throttle on mine, this motor should shake the walls.
Let me know if your going on a road trip to see it.

Keith Craft knows how to build motors. Those guys and Bennet Racing rule the higher ranks of Ford drag racing. That motor will sound damn nasty when mated up to the side pipes.

I'm putting 2 inch headers on it with the new stainless pipes from Stainless Works made for Superfomance Cobras. I had these pipes on my 514 stroker SPF and they sound awesome.

Alan, no road trip as I'm to tied up this week and Keith dynoed it today. He's coming over to Dallas Friday and is bringing the engine. It has some Keith Craft valve covers on it so all I have to do is put the Cobra Pent Roofs, finish dressing it out and stick it in the next couple weeks!!!!!!!

That Black / Gold combo looks sharp. Love the skinny stripes down each side of the wide ones..........I always think that that's a nice touch whenever I see one done that way. It stands out. Different.
Dare I ask this question.........? ..........What made you go from a 514 BB to a SB stroker???? Don't want to start anything.......just wondering for my own selfish reasons!

514 Stroker was a neat motor but way too much tork down low. After driving Drew's SPF with the 418 small block stroker with similar HP/Tork I liked how the power was up higher and much more usable. I've always favored small blocks anyway and I just liked his combination. Thought I'd go one step further and make it a 427 Cubic Inch............

Thumbs up

Good Lord, that's a lot of motor, Gary! I hope you selected the "dually rear wheel" option on that SPF!

Seriously, what rear gear ratio are you running?

Talking What an AWESOME combo...again!!

Gary,
Let me be the first to say "You've done it AGAIN"!!!! Your cars just keep getting better and better. I can't wait to see the car and the engine, and if you are going to be home this weekend I'll call you & come up. Maybe we will be over this 109 temperature by then! GEEZ, the only thing hotter than our weather will be your new SPF !!
I will give you a call to check your schedule.
John R.

John,

You are always welcome to come visit the homestead!

If it's not too hot, I will be working on the cobra getting some of the things done prior to sticking the engine. Keith is suppose to bring the motor to Dallas on Friday, but I haven't decided if I'm bringing it home or leaving it at the shop - as we may stick the engine at Keith Craft Motorsports and then bring the car back home to finish it............

Drew is gone until Sunday so I'll most likey wati until he gets back!

Default Works for me!

Cool,
I think doing the install at Keith & Drew's shop is a really good idea. If you are going to be working on it Saturday I would like to come up & take some pictures. There is a chance I might have to go over to Dick Flesher's house in the afternoon to help Matt(his oldest son).
Gary, your tag line under your posts is really awesome
I'll call you.
