Here's an update from Dick!
Friends,
Here is an e-mail letter from the Fleshers. This is the latest, and it is good news. You have all been part of it.
Dear Family and Friends,
Here is an update on the Flesher household and a progress report on Dick's
treatment. Dick has now been home from the hospital for 3 weeks and doing
radiation everyday. The boys drive him to radiation and then have lunch and
sometimes go to at movie in the afternoon. It has been a very special time spent
with them and a different role to take care of ole dad. They even took a
tour of the downtown Zoo Aquarium and were just right as far as time and
exercise. Matt moved back to his apartment a couple of weeks ago and Scott will be
returning back to fall classes at Texas A&M at Corpus at the end of the month.
We got some really good news last Friday from the Oncologist - his tumor has
been cultured for 5 weeks with different chemo's to see which ones will have
the best effect. There is 5 chemo's hat work on this brain tumor and praises
the Lord - 4 out of 5 killed the tumor that was being cultured. We feel like
this is a huge answer to our prayers and yours. His doctor said she had a
patient with the same type tumor and an agresssivenes as Dick's and he has been
alive now for 6 years. This was thrilling news to our family - and we know
that all of your prayers played a part in this good news. The Doctor said that
it was very unusual for 4 out 5 chemo options to have a positive response to
one tumor. This gives her a lot to work with. The current plan is to is to
start chemo treatment next week - Friday - August 15th.
Again, our family has felt such support and love from all of you and we know
that God has a perfect plan for Dick's life. We know that through the power,
the Lord will take care of him.
Again, thank you for your all of your prayers. We will keep you updated on
Dick's treatment and overall health.
We love you all,
Dick, Barbara, Matt & Scott
Thanks for all the support for this family and our friend.

You don't hear that kind of report very often. Congrats...
We all wish you the best. Be strong during the chemo. It can get discouraging. But, try not to let it....You've got a lot to come home to...

Well guys - not quite there yet
After the blood test late last week - they decided to postpone the start of the first chemo treatment until they can get my red blood count beefed up and a little more healthy postion. We see the doc on Monday again - check the status and hopefully can give the first round at the good stuff. If I can get this real specific stuff into my system on next week, I will be on cloud nine. This is the first line of attack and the Doc says we still have a handful of about 4 chems to attack this deal.
I have been so forunate all my life with good health, and willl see this through according to God's will. You guys/gals - thanks for your continued prayer, suppport and friendship.
I will keep you advised as to the progress and hope to get the first round of the "the good stuff" as soon as Doc thinks the timing is optimum. Try to give update by Tues/Wed.
Again, thanks for your continued support and prayers.

Hey, Dick!
Dick,
I'm glad you have the time to check in on us here at the old TCC boards. I know everyone is very happy to get any direct information we can, and it sure looks like things are moving along pretty well.
I am planning to give you a shout early in the week.
See you soon,
John R.

We are so happy that you are getting these results. Tom and Jay taught me something when I met them, (gosh has it been five yaers ago now) that prayer works, and it does. You are now and always have been family to everyone here.
