Here's the latest word from Dick F.
Members,
Here is a copy of the latest e-mail I got from Dick.
Dear Family and Friends,
This is just an update on Dick's medical condition and our next step to getting him well. I have not started on Chemo yet due to my platelet count is too low and the Dr. is trying to get that count to a satisfactory level. Last Friday - when I saw my Oncologist - she discovered that I had a small blood clot in my left leg and now Barbara gives me anticoagulant shots twice a day.
For a nurse without training, her shots are a piece of cake!!!! Her hand was shaking the first evening - but now she is expert.
What we really need you guys to pray for is I'm having a bone marrow biopsy on Friday morning. From the biopsy, the Dr can tell what is going on with my platelets. It could be a fungus, or something of a more serious nature like lymphoma. We ask that you pray for an easily treatable blood result so I can start the chemo immediately. We are discouraged that we have not able to
start the chemo by now, but that God's timing is always perfect. At a time like this, it is always something we need to remember.
On a lighter note - Matt and I are going to church tonight for a steak and car show - should be fun. He is washing the Cobra right now. Barbara is looking for a nice quiet evening at home. We love you all and will keep you informed.
Love in Christ,
Dick, Barbara, Matt & Scott
