Default final drive

Dear Cobra Family and Friends,

This is Matt Flesher, Dick's oldest son. I would like to take this time to thank you for all your prayers and support. My family and especially my dad would be honored if yall would drive your cobras to the memorial service, I am planning on leading the way in the silver cobra. I know how much the you guys meant to him in recent years. We will keep updated.

God Bless You All,

Matt Flesher

Unhappy

You smile upon your friend to-day,
To-day his ills are over;
You hearken to the lover's say,
And happy is the lover.

'Tis late to hearken, late to smile,
But better late than never:
I shall have lived a little while
Before I die for ever.

-- A.E. Housman

Rest well, friend. You will be missed and not forgotten. I cannot be there in person but will be thinking of you all day Friday.

Bob

"We are standing on a shore. A large sailing ship is about to pull out. Friends and relatives are standing on the deck, waving goodbye, throwing streamers, calling to us, calling our names. And we call to them and to each other. ‘Look, there’s Grandma…there’s Uncle Joe…there’s Uncle Bill.’ A bell sounds. The ships begins to move away.
"We stand silently for a very long time and watch as the ship goes further and further away until, finally, the mast is just a vertical pencil line on the distant horizon. Then it too goes down, until we can no longer see it. And we sigh, ‘Oh, she’s gone.’
"But gone from where? Gone from our sight. That’s all.
"For at the very moment we sigh, ‘Oh, she’s gone,’ another cried on another shore jumping up and down, laughing and yelling and pointing excitedly out to sea saying, ‘Look! She’s coming. Look, the ship Is coming home! Look! There’s Grandma…there’s Uncle Joe…there’s Uncle Bill.’"
The ship is coming home. There is another shore, another dimension in which we have already begun to live. We are filled with the Spirit of our Risen Savior—forever.

Rest in Peace Dick

Unhappy Goodbye Dick

Dick,
Ute and myself will miss you and never forget you. You were the first we contacted from Germany to join the TCC. You were the one who welcomed us with open arms and introduced us to this wonderful group of people, our TCC friends.
We will always remember you!
I am so glad that I had the chance to meet you at the TCC meeting in Mesquite last month, talk to you for a couple of minutes and give you a final hug.
I am currently in Puerto Rico, Ute is in Ohio and unfortunately we cannot be there in person for the Friday service but will be thinking of you all day Friday.
Our deepest condolences to the Flesher family.
Dick it was a pleasure to call you friend and I am sure, we will meet again at a better place.

Ute & Thomas

Matt,

Your father was a great man...I enjoyed the times I got to spend with both of you. I hope that you and your brother will join us in Austin...I will do whatever I can to help.

Unfortunately I will be in Chicago on Friday but John Russell has instructions to give a big hug to each of you.

Dick will be missed greatly and its a sad day when god calls a good man to be with him early.

Arrow Matt........

I'll be there with the Cobra to join you and the rest of our club in this final drive in memory of your father. I'm honored to be a part of this tribute to his life. Dick was a good friend, fellow club member, husband and father. May he rest in eternal peace with our Lord.

Although I only knew your father through correspondence we had via this forum and e-mail, I could tell he was one heck of a guy and more than eager to give a stranger any assistance he could. Our paths crossed when I was researching replica manufactures. He had a good deal to do with my decision to purchase a Unique. It would give me no great pleasure than to be there to honor your Dad, but alas I'm in California and the car is not yet complete. He had offered, and I was looking forward to his advice on getting me through the final assembly process. That aside - my deepest sympathy. He touched a lot of people in a very good way.

Default Dress "Church Appropriately" tomorrow.

Drivers and attendees,
I was asked about dress for tomorrow, so I just got off the phone with Matt. He told me his feeling was we should be "Church Appropriate", so I will have my coat and a tie in the trunk, and will put them on at the church. I also told Matt that people had already mailed checks(me so far) in to the West Dallas Community School in memory of his father, and they were blown away. The set up for tomorrow will really be something so I will see you all there.
John Russell with John Jr. riding with me.

Christie and I's deepest sympathies go out the Flesher family and all of Dick's friends. While I am a Cobra short at the moment, I have no doubt one of the guys will let me ride co-pilot tomorrow.

Dick was one the first TCC folks I met when I got involved. I am a better person for it. My fondest thoughts of him are they that he was always sharing THE three greatest gifts of our Lord, faith hope, and love. Dick always had a smile, a warm greeting, and something positive to stay to each and everyone of us that were honored to know him.

Should we all be so blessed to be half the person, Dick was.

Dick, thanks for sharing your blessings with us. God Bless. See you down the Road.

Unhappy THE DRESS CODE

I HAVE TALKED WITH SEVERAL OF THE PEOPLE GOING TO DICK'S SERVICE. MOST HAVE SAID THAT THEY ARE WEARING THE DENIM BLUE SHIRTS THAT DICK HAD PART IN DESIGNING AND BLACK SLACKS. IF THIS IS NOT APPROPRIATE PLEASE POST.

I DON'T KNOW WHAT ELSE TO SAY,,, TOO MUCH OF A LOSS FOR WORDS. IF IT WERE FOR SOME OF MY FALLEN COMRADES I WOULD KNOW... BUT FOR SUCH A GOOD MAN...HELP HERE PLEASE.
