Dick Flesher scholarship fund.
Members,
I have been under very heavy voice and e-mail message reception since I posted about Dick's death this morning, and I can now partially answer some of the questions most of you have been asking about what to do.
1. There will not be any form of viewing prior to the service on Friday at 2:00pm. Dick did not want it and neither does his family.
2. Flowers. If you haven't sent them, please don't. The family has other plans, and there will be flowers there anyway, and they will all soon die and be gone.
3. Dick spent a lot of time working in West Dallas with Habitat for Humanity trying to give the underprivileged a way out of their environment. In tomorrows paper, and shortly thereafter in here, will be a Dick Flesher Memorial Scholarship fund to benefit the West Dallas young adults. The family has asked that any donations, no matter how small, be made there in Dick's name to help the overachievers that can most benefit from our collective assistance find a way out of that community. Dick has been directly responsible for the enrollment of these young rising stars in Jesuit, Ursuline and other institutes of higher learning.
That is all I know at present, but I will post again tomorrow morning with specifics as they become available.
John Russell

I think the scholarship fund is a very fitting tribute to Dick. Count on my support.

Here is the information for the donations.
Members,
Here is the information from the obituaries in the Dallas Morning news.
" In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make donations in memory of Dick Flesher to West Dallas Community School, P.O. Box 225643, Dallas, Texas 75222."
Thank you,
John Russell
I will see you tomorrow at the memorial service to celebrate Dicks life at the Northwest Bible Church, 8505 Douglas Avenue, Dallas, Texas, 75225 , and I will be driving my Cobra with my son, John Jr.
