Richard Earl Flesher
FLESHER, RICHARD EARL, 53. "Dick" was a beloved husband and wonderful father. He went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 17, 2003. Dick was born on February 17, 1950 in Tokyo, Japan and grew up in Amarillo, Texas. In high school, Dick was selected to the Texas All-State Football Team in 1968 while playing linebacker for the Amarillo Sandies. He graduated from Texas Tech University in 1972 where he was a member of the Phi Delta Theta Fraternity. Following graduation he married his wife of 30 years Barbara Britain and moved to Dallas where he was in the mortgage business for 30 years. Dick was a dedicated father and loving husband. He'll be most remembered for his love for Jesus Christ. He served him as a Sunday school teacher at Northwest Bible Church, as Scout Master, and soccer coach. Dick enjoyed sailing, woodworking, playing basketball, photography, and especially driving his silver Cobra. Dick was loved and admired by all who knew him. He will be dearly missed. He is survived by his wife, Barbara; two sons, Matthew and Scott: two brothers, Jack and Bob Flesher of Amarillo; sisters, Barbara Drake of California and Paula Wakefield of Arizona. A memorial service celebrating his special life will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, September 19, 2003 at Northwest Bible Church, 8505 Douglas Ave. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make donations in memory of Dick Flesher to West Dallas Community School, P.O.
