How Many Shelby Originals Are Out There?
For the past few months I've notice something weird. Every time some one comes up and asks "Is it an original", they begin to tell me that they know someone who has an original Shelby Cobra. I've lost count, but there must be at least thousands of originals in Texas alone.

There is a guy down the street that has a barn ... and has 332 lost Cobras just rotting away...and he doesn't knnow what they are worth... and he says he will sell them for $5 each... and ... and.. and
I have heard that many times myself. In fact I had one guy that was so sure his neighbor had a 65 Cobra that he sent me an email with a picture of it. Turned out is was Little Greg's Lone Star.

I don't know how many but it must have been a whole bunch! I met a guy on Sunday who's brother-in-law has a "real" one in his garage under a cover just taking up space. Says the wife wants it out. Told him I may be able to help....I'd haul it off for him if he would like.....I have been looking for a good deed to do

I live in a fairly well populated area with a University and over the last 35 years have only seen 3 "Real" Cobras. 2 427's in the late '60's to early '70's (one belonged to a friend and the other was someone with the University), and for the last couple of decades the late Ray Quinlans' 289. I've seen more than that many replicas in the last 5 years. Maybe all those people know the same guy. Dennis...A 6 duce setup, man that must be a throwback to some earlier days.

I live in Colorado near the small town of Gun Barrel which Shelby American has a small museum. There are approx. 15 "real" cobras from 289 models to S/C 427's, also housed here are two original GT40's.

Now that's a rare one, I didn't think there "really" was a 4WD Cobra, but I was wrong. What size snows are on it?

I know how many there that there are.
exactly ONE not enough.
I believe in all my heart that if the ole chichen farmer would have built one more in 66 I would have been able to own that car. Yep at five years old
