Default New builder to this forum here...

Hello, folks. Please be patient while I try to figure out your ways of doing things on here.

I'm building a F-5 MkII, with 460, 535HP "crate" engine, TKO and pin drive IRS, with the 15" pin drive wheels. I hope that's acceptable here among all the exotic stuff I have seen lurking about. I have finished the foot boxes, running the rear wiring, fuel line and battery cable on the "roller". I am about to start on the intake and oil pan change, so I can get the engine/trans ready to drop.

I am 55. I have raced cross country motorcycles many years ago, and about 15 years ago was drag racing an injected alcohol V-6 Mercury outboard. I still know some of the guys doing that crazy hobby and, regretfully, some are no longer around.

In the last 15 years, I have restored a '65 Corvette, and then a '69 Z28. I have wanted to build one of these "snake" things for about 15 years, but was always side-tracked from all the horror stories and bad experiences I read about. Last March I decided that if I were going to do this, I better get after it. The "Z" car went on the internet and it's in Detroit, now, with a happy new owner. In April, I ordered the car and it was delivered June 12th.

I have tried to join the Texas Cobra Club several times, but keep getting some crazy message that wouldn't allow me to access that address. Hopefully my I.S. guy got me the correct address this morning, which ended up being: Txinternet@aol.com. I wrote whoever that is and left them a message that I wanted to join. If this was wrong, and old folks like me are acceptable in your club, please let me know how to join.

Thanks,
Tommy Davis

Thanks!

I've met Steve. He just finished a house right up the street from me. I will generally lurk about when opportunity presents itself here at work (once or twice a day), where the computers scream, as the modem at home drives me nuts.

Looking forward to meeting everyone.

Tommy,

Welcome to the club. You'll have to bear with the club for a little bit till we get some things straighted out. Dick Flesher was the person that handled registration and unfortunately we lost him recently to Cancer. Please come to a monthly meeting and we look forward to meeting you.

Matt

Tommy

Glad to see you finally got the thing to work for you. I do not know if it was a Club Cobra problem or a Texas Cobra Club problem, but looks like you got it going now. I have enjoyed visiting with you on several occasions and look forward to the Monster FFR breathing fire as we all did when we fired ours for the first time.

Guys I have seen this car and it is one that is being built the right way. The detail is one to be proud of. It is amazing what one can do with patients and persperation.

Welcome to the family. Now get ready for Austin in Febuary!

Default Welcome Tommy!

Tommy,
It sounds like you are building a nice car. Come to one of our monthly meetings and join in the fun. Your car doesn't have to be running, just you!

WELCOME TO THE CLUB TOMMY

Sounds like one fine Cobra you are building.

The Texas Cobra Club is full of great people.

Except for a few and some of them have already posted on this thread.

No doubt you will enjoy this club.

Tommy,
It is my duty to inform you that your car is simply NOT acceptable.
It it is too cool, loud and powerful. Anything that threatens my car's superior performance will not be tolerated!
Please disassemble it at once and send me the parts. I will promptly dispose of them according to NHRA regulations.
Your public servant,
Steven

Tommy,

It seems the majority of the TCC has a cobra at home in the garage being fixed, built, repaired, upgraded, or "a new one is on the way". You'll fit right in
