Looking for Cobra or GT40 model
Anyone know where I can find a plastic Cobra or Gt-40 model which is at least 7" wide? I'm thinking that one of those RC model bodies (comes as thin clear molded plastic) would be ideal, but an assembly model or any other plastic model should work.
Thanks,
-Neil.

If you really mean 7 wide, I can't help. Otherwise, I have seen both cars at Cracker Barrel resturants and Hobby Lobby stores.

Body sources
The scale you need is 1/10th. Kyosho had a RC series a few years ago that featured both the 427 SC Cobra and the GT40. It is obsolete, but parts should be available.(including bodies) My RC Cobra measures approximately 7 1/2" wide at the rear fender flares. There was also a 1/10th Kyosho gas powered RC Daytona Coupe of the same vintage.
I did a quick Google search and found that Parma also makes a 1/10th Cobra 427SC body that is currently available.
Happy hunting.

Yes, I really mean 7" wide -- and in the middle too. I actually need a clean 6.8" x 6.8" inside. Couldn't find anything at ToysRUs, but I did find a few at www.towerhobbies.com...
Kyosho -- $47!
Parma 2003 GT -- $23
Pro-Line 190mm -- $20
Pro-Line 200mm -- $20
The Proline 200 looks very boxy and unrealistic. Not sure if that's due to the nasty paint scheme on it.
Can't tell what the Pro-line 190 looks like (could not find out for sure even from Pro-Line's website).
The Parma also looks boxy ( from Parma's website ). Ugh! ...
I can't find out what the Kyosho looks like, but their quality has always been excellent. But $47 for a piece of plastic is a bit high. Then I'll spend ~$20 on wheels, and then there's an (aluminium sheet) chassis, etc, etc. Ouch!
I did find a nice radio control GT40 at Fry's, but it's $129.!!!!! It's does like 20mph, and has some high-tech RC gear in it, so it would be pain to pay that much, then gut the electronics and drivetrain.
I'm still searching.
Thanks,
-Neil.
I'm still searching for options.

BTW, I found the Parma Cobra shell, but it's in the UK, and no photo. Parma does not list it on their website.
Cheers,

Spring Meet
Neil, I noticed that you haven't registered for the Spring Meet. Are you and your CMC coming? Hope everything is working out for you, haven't seen you since November.

Aussie hijacking Threads again
Jay,
Posted on the Texas site under "Looking for President - Alibrandi's
Thread. I have high jacked this Thread also.!!!
Guess what the patch turned up. I have told the sad and sorry story on the other Thread, about the patch going to South Africa instead of South Australia.
Took exactly three months to get here.
Cheers
Bernie

Jay -- I'll email him. Thanks much for the pointer.
Ed -- as you can tell, I've been really really bad at being in touch lately, and honestly haven't read much on the Spring meet, so wasn't even aware that I had to register. I'll take care of it. Also need to get time to finish the master cylinder swap before that -- fingers are crossed, but it's looking grim at this point.
Cheers,
-Neil.
