Zoop Seal
Has anyone tried Zoop seal for treating aluminum? It is offered by Eastwood as a new product to seal aluminum manifolds or any aluminum part for up to two years.

Joe-
Haven't tried it, but it is supposed to be very good. Someone on ffcobra.com did an in depth test and write up (complete with pictures) on it and was very pleased with the results. If you do a search on ffcobra I'm sure you can find it.
How much is Eastwood selling it for?

Joe, I used Zoop Seal on my polished engine parts during a recent build. It's hard to say whether or not it works. It supposedly keeps the aluminum from tarnishing for up to two years. I've had it on my engine for about four months. So far, so good. I figured I would have a hard time getting to some of the polished areas like the area below the carb on my Vic. Jr. intake after assembly. I applied the Zoop Seal to the components before they were installed on the engine.

I tried it on my entire car, a polished aluminum CSX4000..and spent 10 hours removing it, as it dulled the luster of the large open areas. It left the appearance of a very light film. I believe it will work well for smaller, highly polished parts, however. It was not really intended to do what I was trying to accomplish, so I am certainly NOT down on the product.

Uncle Joe
PPG makes some products to shoot on Aluminum .
A special cleaner and adhesive then spray Urethane Clear .
I don't know about engines and heat but it will work on intakes and I know it would be killer on a aluminum Cobra Body .
It must be sprayed out of a Spray gun !

What else have you found that protects the polished aluminum without the side effects?
Mustang,
Do you know if the clear you talk about cracks in the long term?

TC,
We're talking about applying it to aluminum, not a smooth cranium.

No the Clear will not crack if applied properly .
Most of the reason clears cracked they are piled on or applyed over to many layers of paint this is not a cheap way to go but a good one .
