Default pre-TCC meet inspection in Austin?

Car's got new oil, clean plugs, quiet valvetrain, and new wheels and tires, and just needs an official Texas stamp of approval in the form of an inspection.

Where do other Austinites go for this?

Thumbs up Got Three Places!

I just got my FFR inspected at Oak Hill Automotive on HWY71, near the Thomas Springs Road intersection.

There are two others I have use on HWY 290 in Oak Hill.

Coleman Automotive at 5608-C HWY290, they have a new quick lube building that does inspections.

Klingemanns Car Center at 5635 HWY290.

All three places have inspected my FFR will no problems.

I have gotten my ERA inspected at the Lamb's Tire and Auto on Lake Creek Pkwy in Lakeline for several years now - ask for Jeff Minton - he'll take care of you!

JW,

Got my SPF done at the Quick Lube on 620 near Lake Creek. They spent more time looking than inspecting and they let you drive while the inspection is being done. They took my word for it being a "66".

Thumbs up All systems go!

Went to Lamb's Tire on Lake Creek Parkway, and Jeff Minton took care of me. Not surprisingly, he remembered Cammer (a motor that shakes things off the walls of the shop will tend to do that, I guess!), and sent his best. We may even have some of his shop guys show up to check things out tomorrow.

He let me drive the car for the inspection, and let me pass even when I killed the motor in the brake test. He told me to get up to about 20, and then hit the brakes with hands off the wheel to make sure it braked straight.

Well, the brakes did their job, the new BFGs did theirs, but the Holley said "Holy *#&$!!!", coughed all the fuel out of the rear bowl, and died on the spot!

Happily, after a few cranks to get the bowl full again, the car started right up and went on to do every thing else right.

Looking forward to seeing everyone tomorrow!
