Cool Dry in Dallas

Wow what a great time in Austin! I made the quick decision to head North Saturday afternoon due to the weather forecast. The silver & black must have agreed with me because it really wanted to eat up some pavement once headed for the garage. I kept thinking what I would tell the officer when pulled over. I passed three radar stations on the way - each time they smilled and waved. It is pouring rain at 8:30 this AM and my baby is covered and inside. Good luck to the rest of you comming back today.

Unhappy

Wasn't so lucky...

Started out at 0645 Sunday with lite rain, but got into the tropical rain storm at lampasses for the next hour. Luckily we were trailering it, but not so lucky since it was open/uncovered.

O well it didn't melt after all, but got back to Abilene with lots of sunshine now and plenty of time to do a full afternoon of cleaning and polishing on the snake (so to speak). I guess the wet vac will get a workout.

I just want to say what a great time my friend and I had and good to finally make it to another one after being deployed for the last two years in a row.

THANKS AGAIN everyone that helped to organize and put on a great event!

Yea, I left at 6:15 Sunday. Had a great 50mph tailwind until I got to Dallas. Then got into the damnest storm I've been in a while. Rained and wind blew until I got to Rockwall. Could not get over about 40. Then had a headwind to Texarkana. Glad to get home. Only took 11 hours/

My buddy and I peeled off in Wimberley (90 minutes from my house) and headed home Saturday afternoon. It started drizzling about thirty minutes from the garage and was really coming down about the last ten miles. I was in my JCF with no top up but it was a good incentive to drive fast--the quicker I went, the less the rain came in.

It was really pretty cool--my friend Eddie was behind me in the GT40, and when it started raining in earnest he put the headlights on...looking in my mirror at the front of that car, single wiper moving, headlights blazing, all I could think was "Le Mans, Le Mans..."

Talking

When we got up on Sunday morning,it was raining buckets,so I was all primed to stay another day. We kept watching the radar and it looked like it was blowing through, so about 11:30, I decided to go for it! Glad I did...blue skies all the way to Cowtown. Perfect Cobra weather. Great meet! Enjoyed seeing old friends and meeting new ones! See you next time.
