Kit Car Magazine
Harold Pace attended our 2004 Spring Meet and took photos. Harold told me that he is in the process of doing an article about our meet in the Kit Car Magazine. I will keep everyone updated.

Help!
Harold has questions, I need TCC help!
-------------------
Hi Ed,
Thanks for the help. Can you tell me who had the 289 Cobra race car (the original one)? I can't find him on the list.
Thanks,
Harold Pace

Answers to Kit Car
Great news!!! As Ed has said, it looks like we're getting some coverage from Kit Car magazine. The following is a response to some email started between Ed, Rhubarb, myself, and Harold Pace from KCI. I know most of the answers but don't know all them, so please chime in when you can...
The awards were as follows:
Long Distance Driver went to:
Ray Russell, from Hurst Texas
Long Distance Traveler went to a gentleman from Orlando (Colleen, can you help with his name)
"Our Longest continuing traveler and our shortest member"
went to Richard Price from Tennessee (Richard, please confirm
Dick Flesher and Ronnie Reed received two awards each. The first was a plaque to each of their families with the following inscription: "For your love and care of the members of the Texas Cobra Club, TCC Anniversary event February, 2004". And then I believe that they were each a part of the President's plaque as our TCC co presidents for 2004 (Ed or John, please fill in the inscription on this plaque for Harold)
The 2000 series CSX 289 comp car belonged to a couple of really nice guys from OK. (Matt, can you give us names and details?).
Other event notables:
Tailgate party by RPM from LA (Doug and Crew)
AER -???
/.........
Can't wait to see us in print!!!! Thanks Harold!!!

Dash Plaques
And there were about 20 dash plaques that were handed out to out of state cars that attended the meet. They were Texas shaped, polished silver plaques about 3" in size that said:
" Texas Cobra Club, est. 2000, Member"

Stretch, I confirm that I have the longest member and am the shortest continuing traveler. I think I have it right.

I enjoyed visiting with Harold, he is also involved in CVAR, the Texas Vintage Race Group. He is building a Devin for vintage racing and is quite up to speed on vintage racing, also.

Kinds of cars
Ed,
It might be nice to post the types of cars and the states in attendance. Can you dig that up from your files?

Mrs 66 Snake
My Cobra was actually a FFR Spec Racer and not my Classic Roadster which I did plan to bring originally. I had the Spec Racer at VIR and planned to drive straight through to Dallas and meet up with friends then to the TCC Event. I did end up coming home for two days and then on to Austin.
My Spec Racer had the number 60 with red, white and blue stripes and stars. The theme came from the fact that the car was to be completed on July 4th.
Actually this was my second award and proud of it.
Regards
EdOrlando

My bad...
I was using the info I had from the nametags. If I'm not careful, y'all will start switching them around and really screw me up next year.

Ed, thanks for posting the inscription from the Presidents plaque!
Ed,
Thanks for posting the inscription on the Presidents Plaque. I doubt I could have remembered it exactly as it was engraved.
Richard, I think you got close enough on your award, just don't show it to anybody !!
This is really cool news to see we now have a possibility of national exposure in a magazine, so I have a feeling we could take a big jump in attendance next year!!
Yippee...........more fun to look forward to!!
John Russell

Ryan,
I looked for you at the event.
I am from Louisiana and
Jay Jennings is from Arkansas,
but we wear boots, so probably overlooked us as being texans.
