Ed,
I have the sneaking suspicion that it's the same 49 people who voted who keep checking back to see if anyone else has voted. I doubt we'll get more than a dozen more votes in the next week. Everyone who had a real preference would've voted by now. The rest either don't care, are thrilled with either choice, are completely passive or prefer to let others decide so they can then ***** about the decision.

I agree, I think it is all over!
Coleen,
I think it is all over for all practical purposes. We have already had more votes cast than we have ever had on this subject, and I know I got at least two e-mails from Thomas to make sure that I had voted. I doubt we will get anything else between now and the end of the month that will change anything much.
Coleen, I need your e-mail address. Please send me an e-mail at
johnarussell@earthlink.net home, or
jrussell@usseryprinting.com office
I have been getting TCC info from Matt Flesher that I need to get to you.
Thanks,
John Russell

Well, I vote for February, my reason March is race season and I don't want to miss either but racing is my passion.
Thanks, db

third option
My vote is #3, which I'd characterize as "I'll be there either way"!
My wife and I had too much fun this year to miss it again, regardless of time, except for extraordinary circumstances. In fact, our plan for next year is to have a chase vehicle so that the boys can share the co-pilot seat!

Freddie,
One of the bartenders told me that if we'd been there a couple weeks before it would've been a close time of 1AM. The city council approved it then immediately yanked it back to midnight.
But the gripe he had was that about 2 blocks down the road it's 2AM so he has people leave inebriated???, drive over there, get more inebriated, and then drive back to the hotel, defeating the entire purpose of having the bar in the hotel.
I bet if we try really hard next year we can drink so much in the parking lot that they city realizes how many $$ they are losing out. Or we won't care anymore.
But at least they aren't serving us those little airplane bottles and a set-up and telling us to mix our own right??

"Airplane Bottles"....
Yepper....I hear ya...I absolutely HATE those little "Airplane Bottles"....I mean how archaic can you get...? If some legislator thinks you can get any LESS drunk off 6-8 of those little bottles than you can off 6-8 normal strength cocktails, they're livin' in a dream world! Either that, or they've never 'flown' with the Cobra boys....right...?
Yeah...I'm all for an extended parking lot session....we shoulda pulled all the chairs under Dpn Barnes' Panoz awning and hung out 'till the sun came up....Hey...sounds like a good idea for another TCC 'Feature Event'...."Shooters 'til the Sun Rise".....

Mephis Event???
Freddie,
Why is it you Mephis boys don't have an event?? Between Richard Price's plans for a secondary cruise next year and your great idea for "Shooters til the Sun Rise" you've got an event we'd all come to.

Y'know....we could do that one of these days! My only concern would be the number of local attendees....we've got about 12 Cobra owners - some with cars in progress, some dreamers, about 8 drivers - in the local area: Memphis and surrounding metro areas.
But, of more importance, is the Casinos in Tunica....about 25 miles south of Memphis...are talking about building a racing facility in the near future. Plus, there's a lot of good country roads in North Mississippi that would make for some good cruisin'....maybe stop at a good barbeque joint for lunch....cruise back to the Casino hotels....could be fun. Plus once the track is available, we may be able to schedule something there...skip pad, maybe some autocrossing, maybe some open track time. There'd have to be a charge for this, though...those guys aren't in business to give away track time...but, I would think we could work something out since we'd be staying at their hotels, eating their food, drinking their beer, and gambling in their Casinos!
Hell....this might just work out...! I'll start up some discussion here amongst our clan...... could be fun....

Freddie -
I'm eagerly awaiting an announcement. {watch me holding my breath for the racing facilty} Alan and I love a good road trip. And with the car trips (as opposed to the hunting trips) showering makes the agenda. Gotta love that.
You know that the Texas crew will come. I think there were at least a dozen of us from the Lone Star state in Bay St. Louis last fall.

Oh....fer shuuuure....!
You can bet Graceland would be on the list....can't you just see 30-40 "Shelby Tribute" (Us Superformance owners can't say the 'C' word anymore, y'know....) cars pulling in to the Graceland parking lot...? Especially if all of us have on Elvis sunglasses! Toooo cooooool!
We'd have to have fried peanut butter-n-nanner sammiches for Saturday's lunch, too! Awwwww, yeah....this would be THE event to be at, doncha know...
The original white Shelby Cobra Elvis drove in "Spinout" is at the Hollywood Casino in Tunica....that could be the 'official' hotel.
"Than-kya, than-kya....than-kya ver' much..."

Well I guess March is it!
Barring a miracle or a computer hacker breaking in on our vote count, it looks like March wins. I guess this is another thing we can add to March Madness.
