First Component Breakdown
Well, after a year, and 4200 miles of driving, I was bound to have something break. I guess I should be glad it wasn't life-threatening.
During my build, I stubbornly commited to using the Musting pedal set I took out of my "donor". I've been unhappy with the results ever since...pedal locations, long clutch-pedal travel, constant cable adjustments, etc.
Yesterday, while driving during a GEORGEOUS day, the pedals felt strange. Craning my neck, I could see the clutch pedal move when I depressed the brake. Once stopped, I crawled down the footbox to discover that the assembly which holds the pedals had broken. This was a stamped Ford part that I had been inspired to reinforce with additional supports. I'M GLAD I DID, as my reinforcements were most of what was holding it together.
Oh well, I needed to redesign it anyway. This time, I go hydraulic.
