That is brilliant. Had not seen that article before. LA is filled with cars like the one they started with. Everytime I see some idiot with double six-foot wings, ground effects, gigantic chrome rims, requisite coffee can muffler, neon running lights, and graphics plastered all over his civic, I get sick. It cracks me up to think that NONE of the sht they put on their cars actually makes them faster. Even the hi-flow exhaust usually reduces the (much needed) torque created by the back pressure, so even THAT ubiquitous coffee can exhaust pipe doesn't help these morons do anything other than fart down the road sounding like a weedeater running inside an oil drum. Must read article for anyone shopping for the perfect "areo" kit for his econo car.
Oh, and did I mention how stupid those gigantic rims are? SUVs with 22 inch rims - puke.

I weighted the ERA today. Full tank of gas and fluids without ME in the car. 2700 pounds.

I read that it seems like 6 months ago...and I think the link was from here at Club Cobra (can't think of any other reason I'd be at VWVortex forum) and it made me crack up just as much today.

I would've paid a fair amount of money to be on that pit crew....what fun!

Ernie....please....keep your clothes on.

There must be a better way to lighten the car than to have you drive around naked

Oh...you meant the CAR.....

Well, OK then.

That last photo of the car going down the track is too funny! I remember Hot Rod magazine did the same thing a while back but to a big old Caddy Coupe DeVille. The article was called 'Caddyhack' and I think they got the car into the 11s by using the same techniques as this.
