Default Hood - To Hinge or Not to Hinge

Is there a concense on Hood Hinging? I am building a FFR and would like some input on this subject. Who makes good hinges for the car?

Use the hinge. Many have lost hoods due to no hinge.

I have an older FFR and have had no problem with the hinge supplied by FFR. The newer model hood hinges are better than the old ones.

Mike Mack of TriStates also makes a hinge for the FFR.

My car was originally with pins and I hated it. I added a Shell Valley hinge setup which is in keeping with the original design and kept the pins. FFR said I couldn't have both but figured out a way to do so. I have heard some are cringing at the hood when it deforms a bit on high speed passes. My hood does fine because it still has the pins and hinges/latches/lock setup.

Also, every time you want to show off your car, you have to figure out how to remove it without damage and where to put the dang thing!
