got caught in the rain....AGAIN
You would think I'd learn by now but I am an aggie you know.....
The best part of driving in the rain so much is that it doesn't freak me out and I'm getting REALLY good out it. And believe it or not, as sweet as I am, I don't melt...

rain can be conquored in these leaky things..just gotta be careful and realize that they demand R-E-S-P-E-C-T as Aretha Franklin sings ! i had 5 hrs of interstate hiway rain driving in late april, wasnt much fun but I now have the confidence to not worry about it. All my prior rain outings were quickies, 20-45 mins. This was in torrential (at times) rain and I am now confident in doing it again....soaked ( me and interior) but smiling thru it all. Oh yeah, i had the top up this time, but it was still a wet (inside) ride !! Bill.

We like long drives in the rain in Texas, right Dennis? Funny thing is it hasn't hurt any Cobras or drivers to get wet yet.

I love the looks of the other drivers as you cruise down the freeway dripping wet in an open roadster!

David,
You, Pete and I have had more than our fair share of cruising in the rain together. Corpus to Houston, Austin to and from Houston, Lockart to and from Houston.
But I guess the good old days of that are over since you became a candy a$$ and bought that big dry confortable trailer....come to think of it can you help pete and I become candy A$$ too...

Dennis, even with a trailer, I still get caught in the rain. Seems like I don't always know just when to drive it and when to trailer it. That's what makes it fun!

Mr. Shelton, no one hurt you say? What about the trauma I suffered motoring through that typhoon on the trip back from Austin. My fragile psyche is still a shambles. The last thing I remembered was seeing you pull away from the hotel in your warm, dry, trailered rig with an obscene grin on your face. By the way, what was that odd one fingered wave you showed Dennis and me? Some kind of good luck gesture I assume. I also seem to recall you snickering about my Lucas wipers before I left. Of course they failed within 10 miles but fortunately they stuck on the fast on position. Unusual for a Lucas product as they normally croak altogether. It's OK because they work perfectly in dry weather. They only act up when it rains which is not too often. How hard did it rain you ask? At one point I looked out the side window and saw a trout swim past. Anyway I'm much better now but still freak whenever I see an umbrella.Your friend, Pete.
