Bob Atkins and I go back to the mid-70's, when I figured out that like fingerprints, every human being's metabolism is different.

I ate the way my thin parents and brothers did, and I slowly crept up to 270 by the time I was 24.

I'm 53 now, and 188.

If I eat "radical" Atkins, I stay under 200.

If I eat "normal people," I'll be right back up there...

and it ain't happenin' this time.

My Dr. and I agree...

"Iwas born a fat guy, and I will die a fat guy, but I can pack a few more years in between if I am a SKINNY fat guy."

My biggest problem is that I am a gourmet cook.

It makes my heart smile to read the above success stories!

But I know what works for me.

Of course, I cheat occasionally... I had a dinner roll at Thanksgiving.

And a piece of pecan pie at Christmas. It gave me the skitters.

Good luck!!!

Default Cobra Ed, Huh??

Last I checked, Conjugated LA, is what you do to verbs in French I. Well, you conjugate something in French!!

I gave up fries yesterday. Of course after my harrowing experience today, I did eat a couple of Sonic Tater tots...

I need to lose 10 lbs. well ok, maybe 15. I don't diet. don't excercise. cut back all the white food, and maybe I'll lose a few. That's my new philosophy after watching 10 men chow down on their fries in Tulsa last week. (well john was good and didn't eat his, or his chocolate cheesecake). The general consensus was, do your own atkins. lots of protein, no white stuff. light on the fruits, heavy on veggies. we'll see.
keep this going, and report back.

When I followed the Zone diet by Barry Sears I stayed right at about 16% body fat with no excersize. Then I started playing volleyball on a league two nights a week and felt good and stayed at my ideal weight. Then moved to CA, got off my diet from eating out too much and gained an additional 10% and was really heavy when I got married. Back on the Zone now to keep my blood sugar in check and aiming for about 13% body fat. Still don't get much excersize, btoke my dirt bike and no one plays v-ball. I do mow with a push mower though.

I found setting aside some of my lunch money for the Annual Fund Drive cuts down on my calorie intake.

Give it a try,it works.
