Gary,

Congratulations on the sale.

Did the buyer really drive his car back to Mexico City like he talked about? On one hand that's sounds crazy, on the other, that would be a really cool trip.

Gary,
I'm sure you will miss the Cobra.

If he is driving it back to Mexico City in JULY he has the ba!!s to match your Cobra.

Gary,
You sure looked real good in the coupe the other day. Maybe we can get Monica to come out and play with us if you are offering up A/C.

Colleen,

I think Monica would come just with a Top but A/C would most likely secure the attendance!

Default I guess it had to be!

Gary,
Once that monster made the For Sale pages I knew it would just be a matter of time! I have to say you sure have raised the bar for yourself into the stratosphere with the Black/Gold car, and I can only wait with unbridled enthusiasm for your next venture!
I sure would not want to be a Mexican playboy and try to show off so his Senorita by picking on your old car!!!!!!!!!!Whoah, that thought brings back images of the Alamo, with Texas winning!
Your friend,
John Russell

Gary,
Want to hear something really funny?? I had been talking with the same guy via email for 2-3 weeks. He left it that he would be in Dallas sometime in the next few weeks and would give me advance notice so he could see the car, and he mentioned that he was looking at one other car in the area, I figured it was yours.

We go to Horseshoe Bay for 10 days over the 4th of July and on Saturday nite we have about 10 people over for a BBQ. A few cocktails later my cell phone rings and lo and behold it is the potential buyer telling me he is in Dallas and wants to see the car in the morning. Well, in my best cocktail voice I tell him I am out of town for several more days and he will just have to find another car to buy!! I hang up the phone, tell the story to the guys out by the grill and they all laugh!

About 8 hours later in a fit of sobriety I realize what I said to the guy, go to my cell phone and try to retrieve his number but discover that since I was not in a digital area that the number was not logged. Tried checking the home #, he had called there as well but left no phone # and of course I do not have caller ID.

The point to this story is two fold:
1) I expect a commission on the sale of your car!
2) alcohol and cars indeed do not mix!

Congratulations on your sale and everyone at my AA meeting thought the story was funny as well!!!

I think you would look really good in either one of our cars and yes Monica the Coupe has Air!!!!

Still the owner of ERA 389

Greg,

Alfredo sent me an email about 6 weeks ago and offered me cash and a Rolex watch which I was not interested in. I responded that I'd take $ 60,000 for the car if he was interested. He also responded that he would be in Dallas in the near future and come see the call. Thought that was the last I would hear from him.

When he called me Thursday afternoon he said he was looking at an ERA in Dallas and I asked him if it was your car and he said yes. He got in around 8:00 PM and called again and I told him I was pretty far out from the airport but you were right down the road so he should go see yours. The next morning he called and said you were out of town for the Holiday and came to look at my SPF. After the ride etc. we could not come to an agreement and he left to head back to the airport. He called one more time and made one last offer that I countered. Still no sale then. On Sunday the 4th of July he called from Mexico and said he would take my counter and be here Monday night and buy the car Tuesday. Well he came and bought the car. Him and his brother drove it to San Antonio Tuesday afternoon. I got an email from him yesterday that after playing with it a day in San Antonio he just could not leave it there and had it trailered back to Mexico City were it is the talk of the town. Real nice guys, he is about 35 years old and his brother was about 32. This was now his 9th Cobra.

I think his brother may be looking for one now also as he asked me to call him if I built another one.
