Grandson's First Ride
My grandson, just turned 2 on July 5th, has played with several toy Cobra cars. He goes around the house saying Opra and Waroom all the time. This morning he came out in the garage, stopped and stared at my FFR. Then he pointed to the FFR and said "Big Opra, Waroom, Waroom". He walked all around the FFR, touching and feeling the Cobra. I opened the driver's door and he climbed in and started to turn the stearing wheel. I installed a child seat, he climbed in, I locked him down, and placed headset over his ears. He didn't want anything to do with the headset, so I started the FFR. He smiled. I took him around the block and he really enjoyed the ride. Now all he wants to do is go into the garage and sit in the FFR.
Motto, never too young to get them into Cobras. My wife hates to ride in the FFR, but now I got my Grandson Ethan ready to go with me.

Ed- I am not jealous of you because you have your FFR and I still don't have my BDR...
I would trade my BDR in a heartbeat for a grandson.
Sounds to me like you "got it all," dude.

Ed,
Maybe our wives can start the "I-hate-my-husband's Cobra Club". Have my SPF since mid-April and all she has settled for is one ride around the block as we were joined by our 21-year-old daughter who sat between both seats. Condition was not faster than...20 MPH !!!!!!!!!
Maybe I should wait for a grandson, HE-HE.

What kind of car seat do you have. My daughter is turning 1 on the 12th and it's time for a forward facing car seat. I told my wife I don't care what kind of car seat we get as long as it fits in my cobra!!!!
She's already been 4-wheeling in my FJ40 and she loved it!!!

Standard Child's Car Seat
Lew, I secured my grandson with the standard child seat straps, then I took my Simpson four way belts and locked Ethan and his seat to the passenger seat. It was a one time ride around the block so I didn't worry too much as long as Ethan and his seat was secure. As time goes buy I'll do some more research on properly securing him to the Cobra.
Can anyone suggest a good child's seat? I know that Simpson makes a child's seat. Is the Simpson seat any different from the standard children's seat? I wonder if the Simpson's seat works with their four way belts?
Andres, Maybe our wives can start a fourm of their own. Kathy has only ridden with me about three times in the past five years. She is very fearfull when sitting so low in the FFR.

I just bought a new seat for my 2.5 year old son that would fit in my cobra. It is made by Britax and it is blue/black. The other ones that we have the base is too wide on them and wouldn't fit in the seat on my spf. The other seats that do not fit are Eddie Bauer (made by Cosco)

Ed,
Hope you got some pictures of that. Can you imagine him as he gets older showing him and grandpa's car at show and tell?

Kids love Cobras! I scanned in a photo of my 7 year old daughter from Jan 2002 (she was 5 at time), after I buckled her in. Her car seat fit pretty well and was secured by the lap belt. In the photo you can see the Cobra buckle.
Here's a link to the photo in my gallery:

Like I said, Kids love Cobras!
Enjoy,
