Results are...
There was one AC Cobra from AER that took the Shelby/AC Cobra Class Award, being the only Cobra in that class.
Of the "Cobra Replica Class": Doug Sherar's brand spanking new nearly undriven "off the showroom floor" Superformance took Best of Class and Best of the Cobras. Mark Bartle's LoneStar Classic (that took best of class last year while under 1 mile usage) took 2nd place this year (Class Award).
I walked away totally empty handed this year --- my 5 year old LoneStar Classic did not get so much as an honorable mention. The judges sheets will be mailed this time (instead of handed out after the show) so I can only speculate the results --- my Cobra was cleaner with better paint than years past when I won awards, but now has minor bends in the radiator due to being driven thousands of miles and on the track. I also could upgrade to the newer type bumper jack mounts with rubber grommets that LoneStar now has in their current kit. I still had fun because most Cobra-loving people stopping by told me they really liked my paint job better.
Congrats to both winners. Both their cars were so clean they could have competed in the Cobra Replica show car class catagory instead of the Cobra Replica street driven class catagory.
I will have pictures later... once I download them from my camera and reduce the size/resolution for web viewing.

Ya'll missed an excellent show this past weekend. Lot's of new cars and a load of fun. Jim Mango took delivery of his latest toy which was a 13000 original mile Boss 429 in Maroon that was drop dead gorgeous. The Cobra class was down this year with only 3 entrys. Doug's new Superformance "Diamond Edition" was absolutely stunning. The fit and finish of this car was typical Superformance quality, outstanding! Superformance keeps raising the bar on quality and believe me I know where to look. My brand new Shelby doesn't look that good and it's going to be hard to bring it up to that standard. Not having a car in the show this year again gave me the opportunity to be one of the judges for the class and I really enjoy it as I probably look in places most people don't think of. Thanks to all that brought out their cars for everyone to see and enjoy.

Yellow Rose Classic
I did not go into this show thinking I would win anything, but more as a learning experience, being my first show. Alan, you are right by saying a couple hundred miles shows a whole lot different than a couple of thousand miles. Make no mistake, you and Mark have beautiful cars. Time & miles will only tell what mine will look like next year. I got it to drive not put on a pedestal!
Having said all that, I will admit it was almost as much fun getting the awards as it is being behind the wheel!!!
It was nice meeting ya’ll and thanks for your help. Gary maybe you could show me those places most people don’t look so I can make sure they’re clean next time around!

Never apologise Doug,
Many of the cars that Yellow Rose never see the road. The way this show is judged is on fit and finish not like alot of the car shows in Dallas....over the years the bar has been raised alot...
Congrats on your win..may we expect to see you at the next meeting?
Matt

DFW Meeting
I have been looking forward to the DFW meeting for some time now. Every month on the 1st Saturday I am either out of town or those "honey do's" get in the way. September is over Labor Day which is another problem. Hoping to get to the October meeting on the 2nd. Looking forward to meeting the group!
